Urashiki appears to steal the chakra of Nine Tails from Naruto, but his attempt is unsuccessful. In order to save Naruto, Boruto, Sasuke and Jiraiya pursue Urashiki. Jiraiya then notices that the malevolent Nine Tails Chakra has started filling the air.

While this episode had it’s moments, the overall writing for it was atrocious. For God’s sake, why didn’t Jiraiya try to use sage mode on Urashiki when he appeared? Or do SOMETHING instead of just standing there. Unless he thought it’d be futile, he didn’t even have much reaction to a guy who was god-level tier capturing Boruto.
Also, why did Urashiki have a tough time getting the Kyuubi’s chakra out in the first place considering that it’s the weakest kind of seal? If he was that strong, he could’ve just ripped Kurama out of kid Naruto with pure ease and be done with it.
Also, why did he just stand and do nothing while Boruto was trying to Talk no Jutsu Naruto?
The writing took a major nose-dive from last episode.

Jiraya knows. He’s waiting for confirmation. I feel like sasuke is feeling a lot of guilt right now reliving a pass he was not a part of and is worried about how boruto will react. I wonder how they are going to pull off the training without messing up the timelines

Good point how cant Urashiki handle half Kurama but he really thought about trying the full kyuubi that was also fully mastered? He shouldnt struggle with just one tailed beast if otsutski eat whole god trees no matter if its Kurama or not

Jiraiya discovering the truth about Boruto would actually be excellent and consistent writing. It would explain his nigh-religious belief that Naruto *was* without a doubt the child of prophecy who would definitely save the world one day. It wasnt just the prophecy, his faith in Naruto wouldve actually been confirmed by Boruto.
It would also add another layer of meaning to Jiraiya’s final moments, imo.

I don’t know how debunked this thought is, but we had that whole clone arc with Mitsuki and the stone village, we are pretty certain that Jariaya is dead, but then there’s this arc and Kashin Koji is still a mystery. I wonder if Koji might be a clone of Jaraiya made by Orochimaru, maybe as a test before making Mitsuki. I wouldn’t be surprised if he secretly had some blood or something from Jaraiya, and it’s definitely not outside of Orochimaru’s character. And as we saw with the older Mitsuki (whatever his name was) these clones don’t necessarily age at the same rate as other people; that guy looked like he could have been an adult. It’d also explain why Koji looks a little different, and why he can summon toads (same blood as Jaraiya, so technically he’s already been signed to the contract)
It’s mostly just a thought though
