I understand you are not a big fan of anime and I respect that but I think you should give a shot to some more anime series.
In my opinion, anime is a medium that is capable of telling some of the most incredible stories in fiction.
If you want some recommendations I can give you some. For any type of story you can imagine there is an anime about it so i’m sure you can find you will like.
Also, I mostly watch anime but I’d like to give some live-action series a shot. What would you recommend?

The first half of the episodes feels extroverted, and the second half introverted. The whole time the anime goofiness is going on, there are actually deep psychological issues consuming the characters, put on full display in the second half.
I’m not an anime guy, but Evangelion was amazing to me. Maybe because I saw it as a teen, but it is very dear to me.

Attack on Titan is the most popular anime series right now…. i feel like it will be right up your alley if you liked Evangelion…. its also cerebral, plot heavy and thought provoking ?
