FLCL was also a kickass show but damn I would not have been surprised at all if the creative team behind that one just wrote down whatever they saw during an acid trip while watching Lupin III and FLCL was the result.

Ah EVA, the most over analyzed anime ever made.
I love this show, it earns its classic status and I don’t know if I’d say its THE best anime of all time, but its certainly on the top 10 list.
Heres hoping the new movies, no to mention the live-action movie, stay true to their roots of excellence.
Course this time the makers probably wont be on heavy anti-depressant medication when they are writing the script.

@gatotsu911 I just plan on keeping them separate in my head. I love the movies but nothing can top the series. It will never be the same as the series, but can be good in its own right. I just love that even after all these years it still gets analyzed to death.
