Frankly, there is no good conversation between sub and dub; people always get overly emotional and are too invested in their preferences. Me, for Eva, I like both of them. Since everybody else is going to vote sub, I’m going to vote dub. Do watch the dubbed version!

I prefer dubbed for the aspect of a) I don’t understand Japanese and b) sometimes they are speaking to fast for me the read the subbed version 🙁 I like the subbed because I like hearing the way it was voice acted compared to the dubbed version

Really I don’t understand people that watch the dub ver in ANY ANIME… Only english native speakers do this and I don’t get it.. Japanese voice actors are amazing and you get the real feel of the story…

Some info that they don’t go into in the show about the "N2 Mine" they blow up the Angel with: "N2" stands for Non-Nuclear. It’s a futuristic super-explosive with no fallout. Still plenty strong, obviously.

Putty, my man, Disney went hard with Snow White in the 1930’s. Older doesn’t have to mean worse. You’ll never see lip flap like in Akira in newer anime, and most sci-fi anime have completely phased out mechanical and analog details for glowing orbs. Not to mention CG that doesn’t get the polish it deserves on tight budgets and tight schedules, from underpaid and overworked animators.

When you have the chance, might check out The Rebuild series for Evangelion. 1.11, 2.22, 3.33 are released so far some of the stuff is similar, but you will be able to notice some changes

I know this is pretty late, but the "N2" in N2 Mine is short for Non-Nuclear, so basically it’s the most powerful non-nuclear explosive they have, however they seem close in terms of destructive power without causing fallout.

I really like Eva’s opening theme, and the ending theme, but cannot stand the anime itself. I trudged through it in 3 days, wanted to absolutely drop it by episode 12. but I kept going, hoping it would get better.
but so many more than me adore it, so I stuck with it

Also Angels as actually shown in the Bible aren’t beautiful people with wings at all. Some of them are like flaming wheels made out of eyes or things with six wings and four heads, etc. There’s a good reason the first thing they say on meeting a mortal is "Be not afraid."
