We get a great opportunity to see the remaining matches of the first round before we get to what seems like will be a squash-match in Ochaco vs Bakugo. Yet another example of me not knowing who to route for in this Sports Festival!

Basically been said already that Momo needs to think of what to make, and then focus on materialisation. This of course takes time and is a brain process as opposed to an instinctive natural one like throwing a punch.
Very bad against speed based fighters since getting pressured with attacks would make it hard to focus on the creation / slow it down. EG why she tried to make as simple equipment as possible. (Small shield and pole.)
Also as someone said her quirk is study / academic based as opposed to say Krishima who just has to learn how to fight. She’s not gonna be someone used to combat.
It would of been a bit different if she was able to fabricate some equipment before going in, which is how she would be able to approach normal situations outside of this forced arena setting.

I started watching your MHA reaction series today and really enjoy it! Ended up binging it all up to date. I’m excited to watch your upcoming uploads! Have watched plenty of MHA reaction channels and yours is honestly one of the best ones even if you aren’t caught up to the latest season. I like that you bother to discuss a ton of input on what happens in the show and come up with your own theories and that you like the character development in MHA so much – that’s honestly one of my main reasons I love MHA so much because almost every character gets some airtime and character development instead of only the main characters getting it. Cheers to your channel and I subscribed too so I can keep up with your reactions!

At 9:50 I think Uraraka is just being jealous of Hatsume, she likes Deku and is thinking that Deku likes Hatsume. That’s just my theory though…

Momo being defeated like this is a disappointment to even fans, too, but looking back, the episodes were kind of leading up to that. She’s always had to work as a team with others, in which she could support and take time to think about what to do, like the battle at USJ. When she was running the Obstacle Course she fell behind embarrassingly because of Mineta, and in the Cavalry Battle she followed Todoroki’s orders – I don’t think he was accepting input at the time with the way he spoke to his team. After watching Todoroki’s match, in which he decimated Sero, she might have felt even more discouraged as the show keeps mentioning that they both got in by recommendations and yet there’s such a power disparity between the two. Those are just my thoughts based on what we’ve seen so far. ouo

I just noticed for the first time that even thoug Iida is off balance with Mei’s gear fucking with him, she’s still quite a good fighter or maybe I should say she has a high fight IQ. She brought a capture net, shoes to let her jump and up her mobility, evasive range creating tech on her back to give a high ground advantage. She also gave Iida, a speedster, gear to improve his running and stabilize him. She reads the situation quickly and knows how to apply all her tools to evade and subdue at random as the situation calls for it and was basically so dominant she could toy with Iida for over ten minutes while taking no damage and reciting descriptions of her babies. It’s not like Iida couldn’t have taken off the gear if it was that much in the way. I hope we see Hatsume fight all out one day with her babies cause honestly she’s a G

When everyone was training with their quirks and stuff before the tournament/festival began it cut to Momo reading books instead of actually doing stuff with hers. Momo tends to do very well in academics and in mock trials like we had with the bomb exercise because she has time to calculate and formulate an actual defense and make stuff. Here, in a combat situation, she’s too stuck in her own head and can’t make things fast enough. It doesn’t help that Tokoyami’s quirk is a lot more offensive and quick. I always feel so bad that Momo didn’t get to show off her stuff here, though.
Next episode hype. Oh who am I kidding, next few episode hype.

So it’s actually a fact that the the dude who wrote the manga for this show was apparently a big fan of Western superheroes, and based some (not all) of his characters in the show on them. Here are some examples I’ve seen in the show:
Allmight=Superman (the super old iterations)
Kirishima=The Thing
Tetsutetsu=Colossus
Sato=Juggernaut (except triggered by sugar)
Aoyama=Cyclops (an extremely strange version, but I love it XD)
Shinso=Professor X/Emma Frost (except limited to only work after verbal communication with the target)
Monoma=Rogue
Nomu=Doomsday
Shiozaki=Medusa (from the Inhumans)
There’s also one big bad later on, and I dont wanna spoil, but I would compare him to Dr. Doom in that he is so incredibly dangerous, plus even though this villain doesnt have a suit like Doom, he carries himself the same way and has the power and abilities to challenge even the toughest heroes later on, like Doom himself. He could also be compared to the Sentinels from X-Men in how adaptable he is. Y’all who dont know who I’m talking about, just wait.
