Fun fact about SAO, the technology shown is actual technology that was theorised about back when this was first written, and as of now the technology is only like 9 years from being developed IRL. See you guys in Aincrad in 2031!

This show’s main concept is IS NOT about death game it’s about VR keep that in mind.
Anyway the animation,music and fights in this show are absolutely amazing especially after s2👀
After s2 there’s a movie(ordinal scale) don’t forget that.
In s3 sao’s animation became fate level and eth got a huge upgrade and that’s when sao peaked😫
And u ask why kirito is sad,he’s blaming himself because he couldn’t help them and he will continue blaming himself for that till the end of the arc,he’s an emo😭

For me SAO was i think my first anime with feature of transport to game or to another world etc. Later saw overlord or log horizom and others.
For me there are so many amazing scenes that gave me goosebumps . But onyly from first 2 seasons , other were good too ngl but liked more those

Not going to lie sword art online is mid. Its not as bad as people say but it isn’t that good either. I do still enjoy this anime because it is one of the first ones I watched but it has a lot of issues that become apparent later on. Oh and in chapter 16.5 of the books it is confirmed you can have sex but they don’t have that in the anime.

Honestly Sword Art Online is a great series and while a lot of Western anime fans like to paint it as if it’s the worst thing ever, it’s hugely popular.
In terms of favourite seasons mine go
Series 3 – Alicization
Series 4 – War of Underworld
Series 2
Series 1
IMO they only get better after the Aincrad and Fairy Dance arcs that are covered in series 1.
Also, there’s going to be a collection of feature length films covering the ‘Progressive’ light novels. These are essentially a more detailed writing up of the Aincrad arc (with some small changes to improve story flow). Definitely worth watching when you can get a decent quality copy of them.
