This might be my favorite non sequel anime of this season, it is made by Furukawa, he learned under Ikuhara, with might explain why this anime give so many Utena vibes, according to lots of people (I myself havent seen Utena yet)

Well, Hikari is the new girl, she has to prove herself if she wants to replace one of the girls that performed in the 1st year play so her having just a dagger seems fitting. (Also some of the other girls actually have it worse as far as I am concerned!)

Wow … this is incredible, it totally gave "Utena" vibes. The surrealism, the clothes, the fighting, the choreography, all of it exudes Utena. Great animation and editing, the music is perfect for each scene, cute and quirky designs (characters and clothing), really good first episode.
This show is a total sleeper, almost no one is watching it. I’m glad that you guys are watching it though.

The first reaction to this episode is always so priceless, all those "what", it’s really good the synopsis doesn’t say anything, makes the surprise even better. Good choice for subs, don’t change them. My favorite part of this episode is Karen’s entrance.
