What do I think about Shinso? He’s pretty OP. He would be REALLY good as a hero (I mean imagine being able to tell villains (who are bad on emotional control anyway) just to turn themselves in). But obviously also as a villain (especially organized crime and stuff). I like the potential his character has, but he didn’t get too much characterization yet IMO. But I like the authors believe in the good in people, making people like Shinso and Bakugo heroes instead of villains. At least so far.

the one I hate about these types of shows is oh this is how I became the world’s greatest hero = doesn’t matter if he losses now cause I know the ending and also his master dying to pass the torch. it’s a fun show, but you know at some point the side characters are going to be pushed aside

Honestly, this episode, particularly, the sequence with Deku struggling to get free from Shinsou, one upped the manga. Nothing against the manga, but Yuki Hakushi’s score was so masterfully utilized during that moment and the episode. And the seiyuu for Deku deserves a medal for his performance. And Shinsou’s VA equally so. But yeah, I do agree with your assessment as to why MHA is great. Shinsou and Deku are alike in that they faced society’s judgement. And while both circumstances are different, Deku can understand him. And really, the message I like to think MHA sends is yeah, society’s judgment can suck. But it is how one reacts/deals with it. And the heartwarming bit with Shinsou being accepted, it was a great moment and a nice subversion on a trope of brainwashing.
Todoroki’s bits were excellent as well, and man I feel bad for Sero. Don’t worry, Sero. You are still one of my favorites. 🙂

Idk want it is about when a character gets cheered on. But I got some feels for Shinso when his class was cheering for him and when the Heroes in the audience recognised his abilities.

Honestly if shinsou works on his intelligence and physical strength, he could be the ultimate stealth hero with his quirk. He could essentially become a world-class spymaster.

I like Shinsou, the dude lacks some characterization, but what sort of small character development we get to see from him is done so subtly and so masterfully, he’s easily one of my top side characters.

A lot people say this series is like Naruto. I see the similarities but it’s also very different. I love the side characters and how developed their resolve and goals are. This is a good story, with many of the characters having some complexity.

On Topic: I really liked the episode and I believe his anger is justified but does need to control it a bit better. We see that he does have some level of control of his anger as he did not straight up kill his classmate in that match. I agree with everything in your video.
Off Topic: I wish they stop downplaying my boy Denki Kaminari and his quirk. All he is doing is just shooting it out from his body. With a quirk like his, he should be at least as good as Todoroki, if not, better than him. I mean, it’s (Bio) electricity, he could have super strength on the same level as Deku as an example.

tbh I’d prefer a parent like Endeavour, one who openly tells me how he sees me rather than pretending to love me but secretly sees me as a tool. Granted that all the things he did were horrible I’d prefer someone like him as a parent over someone like mother Gothel (for example) any day.

About Shinsou..
The second he showed up in the anime (since I haven’t read the manga yet) I immediately disliked him. I didn’t have a solid reason for doing so, he just gave off this vibe that I didn’t like at all.
But after seeing him compete with Izuku, and learning more about him, I feel so bad about thinking that way. I genuinely really like him now, and though he lost, I’m still super proud of him.
I just wanna give him a hug. He did so well.

BTW the whole "you could kill somebody with your quirk" is everything Deku has been going through lately. Specially him, that has little control over his quirk, over THAT quirk, that can create giant whirlpools in a lake just from snapping a finger 2 meters above the water, is in huuuge danger of brutally murdering somebody without even realizing it..

I really liked that they adressed the whole inbalance of the hero couse involving psychic abilities, the guy quickly became one of my favourites…I hope he shows up more.
But now I have to ask…how did that guy that talks to animals or Mineta or the invisible girl manage to pass against the huge death robots in the exam…?

Shinso is one of my personal favourite side characters outside the main class.
It’s also very sad, his Quirk is what many would see as an ‘evil’ ability fit for a villain. The possibilities are endless with malicious or bad intentions and how determined he is to be a hero just breaks my fragile heart ?

Then why can he suffer from hypothermia? Why is his preferable side the worst thing to go up against say his left side? None of the characters are op, Katsuki needs to sweat to activate his explosions. Deku has to stabilize his immense super strength, Uraraka has a certain maximum weight capacity. Lida’s quirk overrides when overused. All mights quirk is constantly affecting his physical health. Kaminari goes dumbass if he reaches a certain voltage.
