Dude really disagree with you in this. It’s probably as you as that ayano’s mother left without knowing the impact on her daughter. But i think i’ve seen enough anime to know that she probably had some kind of emergency and trusted that ayano would mature more independently if left alone. Now, saying it is not alright for a parent to abandon their child only applies if the parent disowns the child or something like that which from the mother’s behaviour that was obviously not what she was doing. Certain situations in life, a person would need to make the best decision available. If she felt ayano would grow on her own, i’d say she was trying to make the right choice. Even in the real world many parents are separated from their child growing up and it’s not their choice. I think you’re being sucked into the idea that she abandoned her because of ayano repeated using the phrase.
And then theres the coach. Both girls have talent and both have put in the hard work, although the results are greatly different. A coach’s duty is to guide a player, but dont forget it is also to improve the overall results of the whole team. Even though ayano became all dark and whatnot, she was slowly going back to how strong she was prior the series. But the ayasaki was facing road blocks one after another. If one member will grow on her own, the logical decision is to focus on the one with deficulties. Even if he ended up neglecting ayano’s behaviour, his intention was logical as a coach.
I think you underestimate the amount of trust the mother and coach have in ayano to grow on her own. If something has so much talent, it’s natural to leave it alone to grow until it faces challenges, that is when guidance comes in to overcome that.

I think Goku is a better parent than Ayano’s Mom. Goku didn’t really forced Gohan to fight but the situation rather. There are extremely powerful villains that are after world domination/destruction. They are the only capable fighters on Earth so… Gohan is forced to fight by the "dire situation". I think Gohan had tremendous amount of talent and capability to surpass Goku but his mom Chi-chi fcked that up. I really liked the young OP Gohan but they gotta make sure Goku is the main character… At least for as long as he is alive… Goku is quite a bit irresponsible as a father that focused training over spending time with his family but seriously without Goku, Earth probably wouldn’t even continue to exist nor would allow Gohan to become a teacher. I think everything went for the best possible scenario but I am still quite disappointed on how far behind Gohan from his father’s level. So far if Goku and Vegeta dies, if some new strong character villain arise Earth will probably be a goner, unless they resurrect them both.

True but also false. Japanese have this culture where they allow their children to grow outside the influence of their parents. They are trying to teach kids independence. They don’t control every action of their child. They just guide them. The problem with the events is that the mother went overboard.

So…if the mother is a selfish jerk and the coach is no better than the former for being bias, the only person can truly teach anybody about the true joy of badminton are none other than the Malaysian Shutters: Lee ChongWei and the Sidek bros.

I agree with most things you said (including coach preferable treatment being bad thing), but I wouldn’t say Ayano, the girl who ditched badminton for years, yet instantly winning once she returns really qualify as hardworker character.

Anime version of Ayano Mom > Manga version of Ayano Mom. That right I said it without any spoilers y’all can discuss this in comments or reply. But even tho Ayano is pretty much worst mom of the year in the anime…….. oooooh hoooo hooooo she’s a lot worst in the manga. ??? I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks she’s a shitty parent.

In the Manga it was revealed that the reason why Ayano’s mother left was because, Ayano’s mother felt like she couldn’t give Ayano what she wanted or needed so she left because she believed she was a bad mother but still kept in contact with Ayano secretly, basically I like I how the manga is doing things more then the anime as yes she left in both but in one she left because she wanted Ayano to have a better life while the anime version Ayano’s mom wants Ayano to be a rival to her or surpass her so in the end I prefer the manga protrayal of Ayano’s mom over Anime version of ayano’s mom

with the fact uchika loved THE other child…not her own child
and suddenly ayano had a step sister, no explain…
i pretty much thinking
"i don’t needed by my mother anymore, i’m an outcast"
goku on the other hand had communication with his child and giving tips and whatsoever so that his child doesn’t make any mistake as he did, to make a better and efficient fighter, and most importantly, he closed to his child everyday…
in my opinion, Connie ARE the one switched Ayano madness into the next level

I really really hate the coach. He doesnt deserve to be called that. He favor Nagisa so much because he’s caught up in his belief than hardwork can overcome talent. He even mentioned that when ayano was playing against kaoruko. But people forget that those that they call talented work just as hard, if not harder than other, simply because people around them expect them to be good.

Exactlyyyy I’m pissed with the coach. He only cares about aragaki because she’s workin hard blablabla and he see his old self through her. Seems that since ayano is talented, she doesn’t need any help from him or whatever. She’s all alone tho…
And the mother fuck she’s an useless bitch. But feel like she’s gonna regret it in the end and being like all mea-culpa

The grandparents might not be saying anything because they are her in-laws and not Ayano’s mom real parents. Remember one episode where grandma said they are lucky to have Ayano’s mom marry into the family/

i think ayano is the way she is from the environment she’s in and obviously her mother’s traits have fallen on her like mother like daughter shes gonna be a little unhinged , but also no one helped her when kaoruko gave her cold….which is crazy what she did and no one one helped her with connie the way i think they could of basically she is the way she is from the way these events lead up to each to where we are now. i also wonder what’s going on with the grandparents not just in this anime but others too they never actually try to help they just sit there and let things smolder over like they’ll work it out themselves which i’m not sure will happen smh

in the manga, she also have a "chinese" daughter. This mom is collecting all ethnicity of grils for her harem.

I called it since the earlier episodes. The whole talent versus hard work argument is bs that people who didn’t know what’s going on behind the scenes concoct to justify their inadequacies.
Also, the whole "good intentions" argument is just as bad as justifying Ayano’s mom’s actions as "good intentions". It may be good intentioned but it’s irresponsible. The road to hell is often paved with good intentions.
I’ve been reading the manga and I’m really hoping that they introduce long legs to take Ayano away from all this bs. I think Ayano should lose the match so that she’d have more motivation and long legs should really take her away to train her into the Olympics. If Nagisa would be permanently unable to play due to a bad leg, then that’s gonna be a good punishment for the coach.

Nagisa worked harder than Ayano? Is this a joke? It’s true that Ayano didn’t do a lot for the past months in the anime, but before that, she was training like hell and even more when her mother abandoned her because she thought she would come back if she was stronger.
She passed all of her life training, on the other side Aragaki just started to work REALLY hard after her loss against Ayano in the tournament…

Ayano’s mother makes me more angry! She thought by abandoning her it would make Ayano be independent but instead created Ayano’s personality to be cold, harsh, and ruthless with no empathy to others. Uchicka was wrong to leave Ayano, has no shame for not telling that she was fine, didn’t have the guts on telling her that she is training her own new prodigy and so called new daughter, and just care back home and expected to see things back to normal! I do not accept this woman to be a mother, but only see her as a woman of poisonous pride, creating consequence that she blindly ignore to see the full conception what Ayano had been going through, and never had the intention on fully creating a real family because she viewed Ayano as a disposable tool of not being worthy to become her prodigy!
Ayano’s Mom has no sense on what Ayano had become, too selfish what she never realize her mistake was her consequential damage, and her path of glory and pride are nothing but tools of the evil sin that guided her of abandoning Ayano and taking Connie in as her “new prodigy and new daughter” as her tool in her conquest of winning.
Elena finally realize her mistake on forcing Ayano to bring back the joy on playing Badminton. Not knowing Ayano’s, Elena felt more guilty every time she sees Ayano’s play style. She’s frighten and worried that she may changed Ayano too much and put pressure without the harm she is inflicting instead doing a good deed. Elena’s realization showed her the ugly truth what she had created and set in motion.
The coach has no right to privately teach Nagisa alone. He is too focus and caught up on the path for glory to bring Nagisa to the pro leagues. His role is to support, care, teach, and put everyone before him instead of putting just one person. Being a coach is to help students become better athletes, understanding each player’s feelings, and know them better. He is not making a good balance for just aiding Nagisa. The coach should also help Ayano to be a better player instead of becoming a player with an unstable mental health. His priority is to help each of the members in the badminton club with fair amount of time, if he is just focusing on just one person, how can he call himself a coach if he is not willing to give extra time to help and save Ayano.

I think the problem tht i have with this anime are the MC, one hanebado herself, i havealredy read a manga that goes the same way, making the MC a all talented girl, that can win without any effort i found the same problem i hate her, i wantedher to loose, but loose bad.
Two this show theme yes Hanebado trains hard and everithing but she wins with ease against people that trains more, and put more effort eve when maibe at the end of the series it redems giving that no hard work can defeat talent, but we all know that is not as much true.
Role reversal is something that we must take with care, why i mention role reversal, because in old animes somonelike Hanebado and many of her rivalseven her mom, would be villans i found disturbing and i want to know your opinion that we have many animes that a villan oran op character is the MC and we are slowly going away of the idea of hard training.
Personaly i watch 3 episodes and 4 and more or less was predicting something the anime surprsie me because it didnt go the route i thougth it goes to much a much worst please.
Sorry but i think the reason old sport animes are good is because they show you hard work, determination, dedication and something, something that is lacking in anime and real life, good sportmanship.
I see only a clip of the moment when Hanebado goes insane and sicko and i hated it, why a villan is the Mc, i alredy have it with overlrod and i am going to said something very few wll do.
I hate the passing of overlord, HATE IT, itistoo slow, here you need a better editor also i hate that introduce a ton of characters that i know will die.
I will quote a reviewer ofthis anime to give you an impresion of this anime, boku no hero academia and the message that they are telling me.
Whats the bloody point of trainig hard or working hard, if itis totaly and bloodypointless.
Sorry many will hate the coment is just, why, why, her mother feels subreal, where is Hanebados father, why no school authority has notice anything, i am sorry but i cant, i know i am putting to much, but well one thing that i loved from overlordbefore the passing becomes athroucius was the idea that he has to pretend he is evil, yet he several times, realice what a i doing is wrong, also at te beggining he wanting to live to the excpetations of touch me.
The preoblem this anime hanebado and overlord is the abscence of good, someone that snap out hey, you can not be a prick all your life.
Also i hate when everyone is that is amaizing, is the best, guys the message that is giving is wrong only one or two get out and say it.
Sorry but even when in most times i apreciate your reviews, this is maibe the first time i coment but i couldnt take it that no one call this animes mistakes
