The SAO progressive movie second trailer! Asuna is
back with some sass to kick some ass. So what’s up
guys Foxen here. SAO you sure took your sweet time. Finally a full trailer plus a release date. This
is progressive movie is coming out fall season so
anywhere between October to December. It would make
for a perfect Christmas gift but actually dropping
it in November would be more timely cause you know.
Anyway go ahead and smash that like and subscribe
and let’s get this shot by shot breakdown started.
Kicking this off we got our physical SAO game copy .
I’m gonna guess there’s a downloadable option too
but Japan will be Japan they love physical stuff.
Over on the right you can actually see the starter
guide for the actual Nervegear. Don’t worry you
can log out easily. There is a bunch of nerve gear
related stuff that the original SAO anime didn’t
go over. I bet you this SAO movie would simply
flash over the instructions on screen. For Asuna
you got a young bright eyed lady. She looks so
innocent. Notice her looking at the actual SAO game
completely normal except Asuna actually didn’t
ever buy the SAO game. It was actually her older
brother’s game and headset. Asuna only borrowed
it for a quick ride. Look at this did they update
the SAO login screen i guess it is about time to
change things up. The SAO anime already gave you a
different visual for the Underworld login screen.
With the Asuna point of view for her hand same
shot as the first trailer and yes i did double
check likewise for Kayaba in the red shinigami
mode giving the fun news for the first day
you’ve all been a set guide enjoy same shot for
the girl crying could this be the new girl and
also same for the dude crying his balls out this
reflection in Asuna’s eye was a standout shot for
me from the first trailer battle time for Asuna
already with her trademark hairstyle in game
do notice Asuna and black leggings same as the
visual for these plant monsters they look like a
slightly updated version of the nintendos i recall
having fun killing these in SAO memory defrag
but the thing is originally it was Kirito who did
the side quests and encountered them. Is Asuna
doing the same quest? Or is this SAO movie changing
it up so Asuna is the one doing the quest instead
super curious to see how this plays out i really
do hope Kirito still doesn’t at least reference it
off-screen this whole adventure was a key defining
moment for Kirito that gets referenced later on
not including it for Kirito already smells
fishy. As for the first floor raid boss leader
it is fun to notice the more detailed
animation compared to the first anime
almost a decade ago now for Kirito here
this should be him noticing the floor boss
switching weapons which means you do have the
boss leader trying to go in for the last kill
but my god look at this big boy mr floor boss have
you been juicing up no longer chubby talk about
getting a design facelift which is something
i like seeing in this retelling. Next up Asuna
and Kirito teaming up i can’t wait to see more of
this but honestly i don’t recall a monster like
this is this some bird dino could this be a new
scene of them training before the boss fight
i bet you that’s it the actual area looks like
a ruins or gravest and you got Asuna leggings
here for a quick second look you can actually see
Kirito with that anneal blade which should confirm
Kirito already did the previous plank quest asana
really just shines here she makes a starter weapon
look great i’m already picturing Asuna getting
some amazing standout moments which by the way
notice Asuna’s legs no no not like that notice
no leggings yet so this should be super early on
and screw that b bastard notice the hp bar looking
thicker here for Kirito why are you looking
so emo dude based on the background could this
be the previous grave scene for this mass dude
i don’t know about you but my mind instantly went
to hey Vassago or laughing coffin but that’s way
too soon i definitely don’t recall anything
like this in the light novel for Asuna looks
like this is either a new random Asuna scene when
she first logs in or could be asuna imagining it
even a nightmare when she realizes she’s stuck
in game besides it’s day one who has equipment
like that already getting to Rem looks like she
jumped Rezero for being put on sleep forever this
character is Mito just know she is an anime
original character she was not in the manga or
light novels i’m gonna get back to my feelings on
this but seriously notice she does have the same
clothing and the cloak as a mass dude that was
definitely her notice mito using that staff weapon
i counted a 5 hit combo maybe more. Are you kidding
me on freaking floor 1? Are you like Kayaba’s intern?
i originally thought she was a spear or long
hammer user but no it’s a [ __ ] scythe how
do you even have this are you a beta player too
getting back to the first floor boss meeting these
guys should be getting a similar debriefing next
up a lovely Kirito and Asuna nighttime scene i’m just
going to be eating up any of their screen time but
please just the two of them no third wheel needed
Kirito hugging Asuna already no not too bad you
can’t see it’s purple Rem going in for the hug
so asana why are you crying this background looks
similar to when Kirito ditched Klein could this
be the two buddies separating you do see mito
perhaps in the past looking scared in a room
over this you can’t hear Kirito mentioning that
being a beta player shouldn’t be a problem which
almost seems to confirm my previous thoughts her
being a beta player maybe one that got frightened
with this death game becoming real the female
population in SAO is smaller compared to the guys
so i could see her getting close to Asuna real
quickly anyway back to the boss fight god damn
i want to be that buff i keep picturing
the wrong diet in red each time i see him
hey keep us here he’s actually an interesting
character in the lineups looks like Kiba noticed
mito breathing heavily considering the background
she will be taking place in the boss fight too
then for Kirito looks like you have him charging
up to get the last hit bonus on that roided out
boss by the way notice Kirito sweating since when
can you sweat an SAO. Did SAO get the alicization
update making this realistic is always better for
us not farming this is showing you a little bit
more of the fight scene from the first trailer
notice the hud being worn out ooh i’ve always
loved the encore sunset you got some annoying
low-level bat monsters here reminds me of some
of the SAO game ones this should be showing how
constantly Asuna was farming day and night to get
stronger then you got Asuna making her grand debut
versus a floor boss fight the cloak is about to
get shattered so freaking amazing let me know what
you think did you like it how hyped are you there
is so much to love here right away i loved the
music Yuki Kajiura is a goddess the sound effects
too they sounded similar to the SAO Alicization stuff
and throughout this freaking awesome animation the
high quality animation is back as expected for
the Asuna movie format Alicization already
raised the bar so much so much to love getting to
a potential issue which mostly centers around this
Mito character so yeah she was not anywhere
in the original white novel or manga who are
you and don’t say Rem i could see Asuna getting
close to her which is why i’m predicting there’s
a good chance she’ll die which would then help to
feel Asuna and her motivation to clear the game
but let me actually get to my main issue with
her instead of Mito where the hell is Argo? Come
on Argo fans rise up she’s a key player early on
especially one that hangs out with Asuna why did
the amazing Argo get swapped out for this anime
original girl? I mean you didn’t even get one
Argo shot in the trailer. Which is why i really
really hope that she’s only here for floor 1
either quickly die off or separate from Asuna
after this floor 1 adventure i mean there’s
already an established as your progressive story
you don’t need a third wheel without non-Kirito
not with both of them climbing the tower besides
anyone else should be Argo or a certain elf that
comes later then for Kirito not an issue but
something worth mentioning don’t get me wrong
i love getting so much Asuna especially after so
many Asuna scenes were cut from SAO Alicization but
SAO Progressive should be Kirito and Asuna story
roughly 50 50. i wouldn’t mind getting more of a
focus on Asuna for the first floor then balancing
it out more and further floors the release date is
fall season which would be a full year since the
first trailer at this rate it looks like the SAO
anime may continue as a yearly movie release i
don’t see them doing more than one at this pace
although i do imagine roni-chan has pushed this
further back than intended but anyway what you
think about the trailer are you hyped what was

It’s like Kirito having Klein at the Beginning of SAO. Kirito abandoned Klein. Maybe this character Mito will do the same to Asuna. In the beginning, She and Asuna might be friends but after the death game announcement, She might abandon Asuna, Juxtaposing what happened with Kirito and Klein.
OR
They will remain friends even after the death game announcement and go hunting monsters but Mito will die at the hands of them and thus turning Asuna to a state of depression we see her at the beginning of the Light novel Story of Progressive. (She was in a state of depression after the announcement locking herself in a room in the town of beginning and never leaving her room until she finally wanted to die fighting)

I want to say WOW, a new SAO movie trailer. My throughs of the trailer well, I really like the new girl character which is awesome as I always like as well a fan of the female characters in the franchise, but the only other best thing about this trailer is very nostalgic as it tanks me back to the Summer of 2012 of the first season of the series.

Right now I am thinking about sao season 5 ending scene where it show kirito will return but in scene i think kirito the black swordmans will return. When I know SAO progressive movie is coming then I think Kirito(BSM) 100% coming but now it not like going to happen (by seeing trailer) but I think SAO have been planned for thinking big I am not talking about SAO progressive more big. Argo did show up for a second in the first SAO season, it was the episode after the Moonlit Black Cats died and Kirito was searching for the rare item that brought back the dead, Argo was the one who told him about it and how to find it, might have been hard to see her since she was wearing a cloak, but if you pay close attention, you can tell it’s her

This is awesome! I’m so hyped! I hope thought that they either make movies or seasons to help make it more clear for this anime and manga story. Note, I am also writing a story that is somewhat similar to the actual story. But with some extras. Of course it will have a prolouge before Kazuto’s parents died to somewhat express what I think of what they were like. Then it will start off with the first chapter broken up into parts with Kazuto, and Asuna, and Asuna’s older brother for a little bit, playing in it both and with the help of knowing more with the progressive series it can help the floor by floor style with Kazuto’s leveling help, by solo leveling. There will be more soon, I am just really busy. I will have another story too that you can all add. Please stay with the lightnovels and anime, to keep the story going.

I will watch it but i feel like it does not feel like it ties in with the SAO anime in the other anime Kiirito is featured evn though some characters are introduced it does not overpowered the fact that Kirito is the MC but this trailer shows that Kirito becomes a side character it does not fit with the anime at all

well, that’s cool. not that we’ll see it in the West for 6-12 months. unless somebody (Funimation, ANIPLEX/SONYjp go-to platform) does a ‘Burn The Witch’ deal and streams it same day as theatrical release in Japan.
the amount of screen time, the number of pages of screenplay, the long ass wait to see it in the West. i think this movie format is a bad idea. it should have stayed a TV series.
i’m happy SAO is getting more content though.

Having random girl die off would be cliche. I’d actually prefer she real or fake befriends Asuna, then ends up trying to betray her as part of laughing coffin as that guild becomes infamous. If you’re really going to go with the lose someone close thing, then having Asuna lose a friend in this manner as part of said betrayal would be better and at least somewhat original.

I have a question thats been bugging me a while now, you know how in The war of the underworld kirito and alice changed the way they look like alice changing back and forth between kid alice and knight alice by thinking about it? Since there wasnt code that allowed that to happen, does that mean they can do it outside of a game aswell? The soul is what changed their apearance and it has been digitlised to work with code such as 871 so i dont know if im overthinking it or not.

1. I think this series would have worked better and been out much faster as an anime.
2. It seems like they are changing a lot of things from the novel, which it dumb because it is a great story as it is.
3. As far as I can tell this movie is only covering the 1st floor, which is weird because the 1st book goes to the very end of the 2nd floor and ends just as Kirito and Asuna are climbing the stairs to the 3rd. They beat the first boss around the 1/3 point of the book even.
Honestly it wouldn’t have been a bad place to end a movie if they had just been following the books properly.
4. Just from what’s the trailer it seem like they are making Asuna out to be a little too perfect, which is totally missing the point of the novel and her character. She had pretty much given up hope on ever returning to the real world and was only fighting because it seemed like a better way to die than wallowing in the town of beginnings forever until her real body died. While it is very impressive that she managed to figure out how to fight on her own without having any gaming knowledge, she was basically suicidal. After fighting in a dungeon for three days straight, she passed out from exhaustion soon after meeting Kirito. She would have died if he didn’t carry her out of there and even afterwards she still wanted to go back the the dungeon.
5. It seems like they are making it a bit too serious. While the story does have a lot of serious moments and they are in a dangerous situation not everything is all doom and gloom all the time. There is a lot of food mentioned in the novels, as well as jokes and fun moments or silly quests. Plenty of time they are not in any real danger. I’d say the ratio between serious stuff to fun world building is around 30/70. While they do want to beat the game they are also living in the world in a real sense.
Hearing the characters thoughts is also interesting. Kirito is often comparing the current game to the beta test and while it’s mostly the same there are a few changes like the bosses and even one of the floors has a big environment shift.
If you have any interest in the story, read the novels! You can get them cheap on bookwalker.
