_Neon Genesis Evangelion_ in one sentence:
_"What appears to be just another mecha anime soon devolves into a honest-to-god psychological horror that will have you questioning your own sanity."_

If none of the psychological shit was in there, and shinji acted less like a pussy, this show would kick ass, but I guess all those things were on purpose, so id consider it very average

First let me tell you that you are so cute and your review is excellent
Second, Evangelion story is absolutely horrible and confusing. The show just have random incomplete stories, unexplained events, and confusing terrible ending

"Decisive Battle" is literally the best song in the show aside from "The Creul Angel’s Thesis" and "Komm Sußer Töd". Gets me amped every time.

With over 100 animes watched in my history I must say that this anime is OVERRATED. I watched it just because everyone loves to kiss its bottom … and yes I get the ideea of symbolism, drama and complexity … yet I still feel that this anime didn’t deliver something memorable besides decent fights and the character self reflection from the ending. The movie was pretty good, but still I felt they made this whole series weirder than it had to be. I give it a 6/10 review from my opinion. If you really want an old school anime then just watch Berserk, Yu Yu Hakusho or Trigun, also for mecha action check Code Geass or Gurren Lagann

Spoilers.Just watched the entire series this month 2018. My mind got literally destroy . I lost some grip with reality ,specially the last 3 episodes. Most of the characters never had a stable relationship between parents and some of them had develope PTSD. Is very complicated so much that I had to read the plot on Wikipediad to understand it. The more I see the more questions I got. Unknown to see the episode again or leave like that. My mind need to heal up .I’ll leave like that. Need some clarification about the anime

I’ll say it !!! This show is Overrated, and I didn’t have bigs expectations in the first place to be dissapointed and I can argue and explain why all day long.
Those who claims this show to be one of the best ever are just subjective fanboys because NGE IS NOT A COHERENT SHOW in almost any aspect.

Whether you love or hate, you can’t deny the impact it had on many other shows and general themes used from it time and time again. Personally, I liked it at first but it just broke down as I watched it. That’s my brief opinion; not going in depth in paragraphs.

May I suggest that you maybe do research before making a video? For one thing, you make Shirō Sagisu’s sampling of the music in Decisive Battle sound like a bad thing. As a musician myself, here’s a tip: that’s how music works. Loooots of things aren’t original, you’re just not musically educated (I’m assuming) so you just don’t know that. As musicians, especially those of us that write music, we are told that being a great musician means borrowing things and techniques from others and making them our own versions. It’s what we’re _told_ to do. Don’t go painting one person in a bad light if you have an issue with that concept; you gotta bash _all music ever_ if you’re gonna take issue.
Secondly, just watch this video. The problems with the production of NGE weren’t due to a budget, at least not as much as you claim it to be. https://youtu.be/jNLA_TxBvi8
Thirdly, you’re putting mental struggles in a really bad light. Thinking Misato is better cuz she hides her pain more efficiently than teenagers is just… ouch. Shinji is hurting, Asuka is hurting, everyone is hurting. They’re all suffering personally while also dealing with the impeding end of the world. The message you’re sending to anyone that watches this is that no matter who you are, your personality, your past, and your present situation you are to hide away your hurt and be happy on the outside. That’s really messed up. I don’t necessarily think you intended to give off that message, but you did. I feel bad for any kids that watched this after being happy to have found a character they relate to only to be shut down by your negative message about mental struggles. Definitely get some psychology research done before you make videos about characters that struggle so much.
Fourth, the fanservice isn’t based around money. If you look at the Rebuild movies you’ll see that they have just as much fanservice. They’re certainly not pulling fanservice just cuz of the budget. It’s just part of the series, the story in general. _It’s an anime thing._
I think you missed the entire point of the series. I suggest doing research and then rewatching. Maybe it’ll click with you then.

Honestly, this show is like if a japanese Dostoevsky made it, It’s not for everyone, but for others (like me), it will forever be a masterpiece.
I am not an anime fan by the way.

I think giving it "Certified Frosty" is a bit much. Rarely, have I watched a series that so shamelessly runs its audience around in circles while leading them on for a payoff which never materializes. Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely not a bad series and it certainly has many qualities I find groundbreaking. However, I think there are too many flaws for it to be included among the greats.

Do people not realize how mental health works?????? Comparing people with low functioning vs high functioning mental disorders and then saying the person with higher functioning behaviors is "more respectable" or "more admirable" is one of the most ridiculous and toxic things I’ve ever heard. This is coming from someone with mixed high/low functioning anxiety disorder, and I resonated extremely with Asuka and especially Shinji throughout the entire show. Every time he talked about how a character was somehow worse than another because they didn’t have proper coping mechanisms felt like a very serious and deep personal attack. Please, get educated on mental health before spouting prejudice bullshit.
