Imma be honest with you bro. Like real nigga shit flcl did infact have a plot which is fucking funny as shit to think about but stay with me now. You see the problem with understanding this animes plot was the irrelevant information that that contributed to th shows content making it a more amusing yet mind boboling plot. The plot is pretty basic honestly. However, explaining it in the comments is to boring and long to type so how would i say this….message me i guess. I guess my google account has my number lol

I think the trick with FLCL is it doesn’t take itself seriously and as a result we don’t either. It is just fun to watch and we enjoy watching it. The episodes are also episodic so some might lead into the other but some can be just watched on their own. It’s just a glorious mess and it works.

This show is WEIRD. It’s definitely one of my favorites because it is so weird, but that also makes it hard to recommend it, I have found. This sounds kinda pretentious, but some people just don’t "get it" (because there really isn’t anything to "get" lol) and I can’t blame them for being put off by it. The show moves at such a kinetic pace and throws so much in your face, it’s hard to keep up with what is going on screen. I have seen this show many times over and there are still things that I notice for the first time. I feel like, if you can just go with the flow and let the experience wash over you, you’ll get more out of it than going in expecting any semblance of coherence lol but man, do I love it a lot!

The main point of this series was to show us the process of growth from a sixth grade kid. They hide it by giving it a bizarre story and tons of comedy. I think it’s a work of art or possibly a masterpiece.

To me, I guess….It’s the anime about hitting puberty. The world is pure insanity that can’t be understood yet, you’ve got weird bumps popping up on your face, and you feel really weird around certain humans. Then that first ONE comes along and fucks you up with the hormones. You can’t make sense of it, but it seems to happen. That to me is FLCL.

FLCL is dense, there’s a lot to unpack visually to get the story. I think of it like this, The real story is Haru and the Pirate King. In FLCL we are watching one episode of that show where we meet Naota. Amarao has a return appearance from a previous episode (where he was the Naota-like character). We are watching one episode of a space adventure series from the perspective of the side characters. This is the most interesting things that has happened in their lives so it takes 6 episodes to tell the story. And they don’t exactly understand what happened, but they have feelings about it and the main characters.

haruka doesn’t use a guitar she has a bass and yes that is important because this show is insane
