I’m sorry, but your comments about Jared Leto’s Joker from "Suicide Squad" had me LOL’ing HARD! ? Now if you remember, *I* personally *don’t* hate Jared’s portrayal. *My* big gripe with it is that the Jokers’ role in the overall film was SEVERELY shortened to where it came off as more of an extended cameo.

A lot of people are asking already what happened to Adam Wingard. How did he go from making A Horrible Way To Die, You’re Next and The Guest to mediocre crap like Blair Witch and Death Note. And I think it’s simple – because those three films were projects he was actually passionate about where with Blair and Note it’s so obvious that he did it for the paycheck and it shows.

Well, I can take one positive away. At least "Godzilla vs. Kong" will be a visual spectacle. Or at least I think it will. Based on this movie and the few pieces of Adam Wingard’s work that I have seen, he’s a very good visual director. Seriously, I honestly think this is a very good visual movie, one to look at for sure.
And to be fair, he gets decent enough performances from the actors (Willam DeFoe as Ryuk is GOLDEN) despite the material they’re given to work with. I honestly think with better writing,a good film crew, and a clear vision, "Godzilla vs. Kong" can still turn out to be pretty damn good. Am I worried? Maybe a little. I mean, all your criticisms are still very valid, David. But I like to think there’s still quite a lot of hope for "Godzilla vs Kong". But that’s just me, though. Maybe I’m just a silly optimist. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Good review, man.

With what you said about Light’s cliched revenge, do you feel the same thing about Sakaki’s revenge in Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters?

Why didn’t you mention the second act?
