Well.
WELL.
This was once again an episode and a half? Why did Western Yokai Arc suck so bad but this arc is so good? I almost quit on Kitaro, it’d be a shame if I had :’D
Again, I don’t even know where to start. Neko will most likely come back. Somehow. But I kinda hope she remains annihilated for as long as this arc goes on. So far with big fights, most stuff has been resolved by her and Kitaro kicking ass, and again, that didn’t leave much room for everyone else. It’s really high time for other characters to start doing something too. Defeating Yokai by sometimes using some fun smart tactics like the little thing Kitaro has done with his vest and a ball in Hinamatsuri episode is what made past series charming after all, so I’m really hoping for more of that now, especially after Kitaro knows he can’t beat Nanashi with force alone.
I’m wondering if Nanashi is "Nameless" because he’s unborn? Is he gonna go through stages of growing up as he gets more powerful? Or is he trying to make Mana reborn as a demonic Mana, thus making her a vessel for his hate? I didn’t expect him to be a baby out of everything he could’ve changed into, so…I have no idea what to think of this, but the one thing I know is that this is one demonic baby.
It’s also interesting to note that their names are the exact opposite, actually. No name and true name. Whenever they said ‘Mana’ my first thought was mana as in magical energy. But this is infinitely cooler. Hopefully true name can trump no name.
Hopefully Daddy Eyeball is okay. It shows how much power he has in the Yokai world and how respected he is when he managed to just talk all the enraged Yokai down. Truly an MVP.
Also Hyakki Yagyo – they explained it quite well in the anime as well, but it translates to " Night parade of 100 demons." There’s not exactly 100 here on these examples, but you get the gist. It’s multiple Yokai in a parade, and 100 is a number with spiritual properties in Japan. You know. The age when items and animals usually turn into Yokai. Another similar thing happened in Kitaro before where a Hyakki Yagyo happened in 2007 movie, but circumstances were completely different.
Rat Man. Rat Man. PLZ. Stop moving out of town. We all know you ain’t going, or at least you’ll be leaving for 30 episodes again until it all blows over. FFS. Also brah. The very last shot in next view preview actually had him strangling Kitaro. O_O Are we absolutely SURE these guys are friends? Like at all? I’m hoping for a pep-talk, but I’m more worried that it’l be just a straight up argument among the lines of "See?? SEE?? I told you this would happen, a bunch of Yokai are dead now because of you." PLZ Toei. I know Rat Man’s a dick, but I don’t wish for that.
