Shinji Ikari just woke up in his Eva unit fourteen years after starting the Third Impact. He hasn’t aged, but everything else has changed. The earth is in ruins. Rei is missing. The people he once protected treat him like a prisoner and threaten to kill him if he pilots another Eva.

So, is the plot still all about no one telling Shinji what happened after Near Third Impact? I only watched a fan-sub but it seemed like if one person told Shinji, "Ummm… You almost destroyed the world trying to save Rei," everything in 3.0 could have been avoided.

I’ve already watched the Japanese version 5 times while waiting for this to come out. I don’t even think I wanna watch the English dub anymore. That being said, I did go buy this today at Best Buy lol.

I watched it in Japanese and it didn’t make much sense to me. I hope the English dub clarifies a few things. I thought about making my own fan fiction about how Gendo got his new glasses, that is if it never explains it. I care more about that than about what happened on earth for the past 14 years.

I preordered this a couple of days after they finally told everyone the release date (The actual date), and I just got it today. After my classes I popped it in the PS4 and went thought what I thought was a "meh" movie compared to the last two. It’s difficult for many series to surpass the first when it comes to sequels, but I think everyone who has watched 1.11 and 2.22 can say with no doubt that 2.22 is the better film. 3.33 is a good film on its own, pretty fucking confusing from finish to end, unanswered questions obviously because they need a reason for a sequel, and if you felt bad for Shinji last movie — prepare for the 3rd bitch to go off the deep end.
In my opinion this whole movie will make your head hurt trying to figure it out, but as a fan of Eva since the 90s, I powered though it and turned out pretty compelling, So when you have the chance go watch this movie. Less action than the last two but makes up with headaches.

For those who didn’t hear what happened. Apparently Anno heard the Dub in 014 and it didn’t add up to the wording he was looking for via script because it’s undertones leading up to 4.0/3.0+1.0 so Funi had to do it practically ALL over again. Don’t blame Funi for this, they were just following the creators orders and already probably spent more coin to do a redub…. Anno practically said for the initial English release. "Eva 3.0 You will (Not) be released"
