I think some people may not know this so here it is, gegege no kitaro is a old anime, this is a 50th anniversary adaptation.
Yes, you could say that this will be replacing dragon ball super as in the Japanese TV slot, gegege no kitaro is taking its spot. But it is not a replacement as an anime.

I know it is too late to say this, but this is NOT Dragon Ball Super’s replacement. GeGeGe no Kitaro had the 9am timeslot on Fuji TV first, in fact it has had that it since its very first anime adaptation in 1968. In fact a remastered Dragon Ball series caused the 5th Kitaro series (the one before this one) to be cancelled, as in the entire plot of it was never properly concluded.

YuYu Hakusho got inspired by this anime and this anime is one of my favorite anime back then when i was a kid, of course this anime won’t beat yuyu hakusho or any other anime like DBS or MHA etc but i still really really love this anime, pls give it a shot.

so, while that guy in the beginning could be just about any idiotic "anything for views" vloggers, it legit seems like a riff on Logan Paul in particular. mostly because the particulars of him stopping traffic by being in the street is one of the things his "crew" did while they were in japan, and the transforming into redwood trees specifically is quite possibly due to those trees being common in the "suicide forest" in which he particularly made an ass of himself.
