I am wondering when you have a death note so you are kira you dont go to paradise or hell…but if you used to be kira and give it to someone else and you forget anything about it…then..you also cant go to hell or paradise? For example light’s father had the deathnote also had the shiningami eyes..so that means he goes to nothingless?

I think the reason why Light could’ve been the shinigami is because…EVERYONE ELSE WHO HAD THE DEATH NOTE HAD THE EYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who did not were killed by the death note LOL

Except light DID change the world, and tbh. what light did was good in a way, go watch a video where someone calculates the losses from lights kills vs the losses from criminals if there where no kira.
Go watch the video where The film theorists calculated it.
If you wont go, here are the numbers.
Light and co. killed apr. 300.000 criminals
In the process he prevented 600.000 murders per YEAR!
If you look strictly at the numbers 300.000 criminals (even if some are falsely acused) vs 600.000 completely innocent people, women, children… guess what… GO KIRA!!!
Not to mention that he stopped wars ect…
So yeah, dunno who came up with the idea to this shit ryuk said!!!

That new shinigami is Light. The apple was. A hint. The shinigami was pretending not knowing of the human world for some reason. Ryuk told him that he was no god and said Light when we left.

Anyone who uses the Death Note cannot go to heaven or hell. My theory is that they become a shinigami themselves. I do believe that light is the goggled shinigami, but would the other characters who used the notebook also become gods of death? (Mello, Takada, Mikami, Misa, etc.) I also think that Ryuk could have been a human who used a Death Note at some point. That would explain why he finds humans so “interesting,” because he was one.

People that try to find the similarities between the Shinigami and Light are missing the point. It’s supposed to be ambiguous and up in the air if they are the same. If they were identical physically there would be no doubt. This scene is subtle and suggests a lot that this Shinigami is indeed Light but it would ruin the magic if it was 100% confirmed. If Light turned into a shinigami it’s fair to say it happened a long time after Light’s death (because Ryuk is clearly older) or at least, he roamed the Shinigami world for so long until he got bored and reunited with Ryuk somehow wanting to relive the fun Ryuk had. Almost like it was destined to happen that way

I think that shinigami really is Light.
The shinigami seem to wear clothes that reflect different cultures and time periods. There’s one that wears a crown of feathers which is similar to Native American culture. The shinigami in question has wardrobe is akin to Japanese rock fashion which entails he was a youth and from Japan.
He holds personality traits completely different from the others. He is 1. Rebellious 2. Demanding 3. Curious about the human realm 4. Looking for adventure 5. Willing to do anything (now using apples as currency) to get what he wants 6. Intrigued by changing the world. These are all traits that reflect Light’s arrogant and ambitious nature. He also has a similar body-type and blazer-like attire. This is very coincidental seeing that the others do not have such wardrobe. He even throws an apple at Ryuk just like Light did. Walks like him (when maniacal).
