That’s not being condescending, it’s brainstorming. Light is critiquing the theory that she’s proposing. They’re both bouncing off their theories off of each other in an apparent effort to clarify the facts and be more certain.

Fun fact, there’s a Flu going around this year of epidemic proportions. The media won’t report it because people will panic. Please get well soon. I’m feeling sick too, so is my dad and my girlfriend and her family.
The reason L is so weird: The writers of Death Note wanted to create a charismatic bad guy and a socially awkward good guy. It’s a really interesting choice because it affects the way we see the characters. We almost want to root for Light in a strange way because he’s so damn cool on the exterior. Meanwhile L is pretty much autistic which makes us like him a little bit less. This show really challenges what we think is good and evil (but Light is still evil btw).

He admits being the chief’s son and an investigator right in front of police officers. If that’s not convincing then I don’t know what is. Meanwhile, she’s denied access to Kira task force and he can help. She has only one choice but give him some time to have a conversation.

Light and L are juxtaposed in character design bc of their similarities in their thinking process. It also shows the ironic appearances a good guy and a bad guy should look like, which leads to the conclusion that any person has the capacity for good or evil, no matter how far the spectrum stretches, in terms of appearances.
