Maybe I’m conflicted cause I was with L and N but I didn’t really like the ending I mean it’s like suicide but it’s not . If it was in the new I guarantee it would be Breaking News Mass Murder Kira commits suicide or has heart attack. Seems to much like the real world people create mass murders then kill them selfs

Pathetic, I think that’s the best word to describe Light in this episode. Just take a look at how L dies and then come back to this. The difference in reaction tells you everything you need to know about what kind of person they really are.

Fun Fact about L’s successors that you probably don’t care about: Did you guys know Near and Mello were originally written as both biological brothers but also biological children of L, and the writer of Death Note changed it simply because he didn’t believe L would actively enjoy or partake in sex?
(I also noticed the writing "Dear Mello" on the back of the photograph Near gave back to Mello – Mello scowls when he see’s it. Near is such a little shit)
Also, Near eats chocolate at the end of the manga to celebrate Mello’s life.

Light dying in the middle of the staircase is symbolic of the fact that a human who uses a death note cannot go to heaven or hell. Beautiful ending.

i think why i really felt sad when light died was because if he hadn’t picked up the notebook, he would’ve lived a successful life with a happy family. he would work aside L and even surpass him, they would have been amazing friends.
