NO THE REASON WHY L TESTED HIM WAS TO PUSH HIM AWAY CUZ CATCHING KIRA WAS TAKING A TOLL ON HIS WIFE AND KID. IT WAS THE SMART THING TO DO. THAT WAY HE DOESN’T FEEL BAD LEAVING THEM CUZ HE WAS IN BETWEEN HIS FAMILY AND CATCHING KIRA WAS GETTING RISKIER. L CARED ENOUGH ABOUT HIM TO FORCE HIM TO GO BACK TO HIS FAMILY SO HE DOESN’T DIE TRYING TO CATCH KIRA. THAT’S WHY HE WAS CRYING IN FRONT OF HIS DAUGHTER. i think you guys miss the point on L’ s test. the test involved what you are ready to risk for the case. L needs them to be invested to a point where Kira could not use the members family as leverage. for exemple light’s father was ready to set up his son for murder.

I always thought L’s mind game was a way to save that guy. If he continues on this path he could risk his life and miss out on his family and seeing them grow. To save him the regret later on.

Re-watching that scene with Aizawa leaving it seems much more likely L did that so he would leave, considering it seems very unlike watari to talk in the open like that. It just seemed out of character idk maybe he was testing him, but i just felt it was a set-up.

It’s not a test of loyalty. It’s a test of commitment. L isn’t being malicious, or suspicious. He wants everyone in the task force to understand the entirety of what they’re deciding between, then choose with full, conscious knowledge.

It doesn’t say in the anime, but when L was a little kid he would play the stock market and made billions. Then he got bored with how easy it was and started solving crimes because they were more challenging.

I always don’t get why people see L as some perfect person with low social skills. However the anime series doesn’t represent his dark sight much.
Also I’m glad that the gang got the thing about borrowing and relinquishing death notes because it will be brought back in the future.

The test was the other way. L wanted Aizawa to be with his family because that was more important than the Kira case. Risking his helper’s lives was part of the deal, but Aizawa losing his family wasn’t

14:10 as someone who works in security i can say this is 100% true. We are epected to have a fully open schedule and be able to work any hours, including holidays and even 16 and 24 hr shifts when needed. They dont give a single fuck about our families or our wellbeing.

I know it’s hard to understand, _but I understand L here, because I am what L is: _*_An autist (more specifically, Asperger’s),_* and one _very much_ like the kind I am, even.
I can relate perfectly to what he did. I would’ve done the same thing. The reason L acted the way he did was not to goad Aizawa into leaving out of sympathy.
L, me – or, well, people _like_ L or me… we don’t feel empathy and sympathy the way others do. It’s not just that L is a genius (which he definitely _is_ in addition to being the type of person I am), it’s that he processes people and the world around him in completely different ways from a normal person.
We don’t empathize, or sympathize. We _can’t._ We _analyze,_ and we _appreciate intellectually._ We study a person’s behavioral patterns, the way they act and behave based on information, people and situations they are exposed to. We recognize and appreciate someone’s intelligence, their critical and other standards, their way of thinking, on an intellectual level. That is the way we "like" people.
That’s how we work, that’s the only way we _can_ work – outside of very rare cases where we develop actual feelings for people because we can intellectually understand and relate to them on an extremely deep, fundamental level (there is currently only one person in my life that I feel anything for, just as an example, and for L that person has come to be Light).
That’s why L did what he did to Aizawa. He considered the new situation, concluded Aizawa was the one where he lacked enough information to properly gauge his dedication to the cause under the new circumstances, and _had_ to come up with a test – not just to properly gauge Aizawa’s dedication, but also to reaffirm his own opinion of Aizawa _being_ on the task force.
I hope this can help some people understand why L did what he did.

We also saw L in episode 10 being taken by a limousine.
Also L is the main leading detective force in the world. He pretty much is the "leader" of the police. You become L = you take over the world police. It’s the highest rank possible at least in the death note verse. Of course he’d been rich as well.
ALSO very important thing L mentioned last episode – he said that he’s been preparing that building SINCE the beginning of the case (1st episode), it’s just that it took a lot of time to build (understandebly) and it’s just now after 18 episode that’s introduced.
It’s not an asspul since L did mention that and it wasn’t build in just one episode.
