Hahaha, Riuk* IS the best part of the movie, I give it a 2 as well. Poor character build up, and a rushed plot KILLED IT for me! Good review man! Also, you need to read the manga/watch the anime. You’ll enjoy it!

I’ve read the manga and watched the anime and japanese live-action series. I will not say that this American version sucked because I am fully aware that translating any art form to another culture or era will require the viewers to understand the limitations of the source material. As viewers, we do not have to put original material to a high pedestal and watch new versions try its best to climb that. Rather we should understand that some will be smaller in scale while others will be grand. I’d say Netflix version does have similarities to Final Destination, but it also captured the moral conflict of the original material which is the reason why we got hooked to the story in the first place. It’s much smaller in scale bec the story was compacted in less than 2hours and but the characters were engaging enough for you to stay. I did not like Light’s version here though, but probably Americans are much more animated in real life than in Japan. Overall i’d give it 4/5. But hey, that’s just my opinion.

I’ve read the original and watched a few of its iterations and have to say that the Netflix movie didn’t do anything for me at all. I was super interested to see what you had to think about it, since you haven’t seen any of the originals. Great quick review man!

Seems like this movie has a pretty heavy negative side. It seems like most people dislike it. I hardly watch Netflix anymore, so this one was no where near my radar lol. Nice review though!!!

I know the movie reviewers all do the same movies but I would suggest getting the video out before or straying away from Chris Stuckman’s reviews. Otherwise enjoy the content

I have heard so many opinions about the film mostly bad lol. Now I have to say I have never seen the original anime or read the books but I heard it amazing. Do you think if you don’t no much about the source material it could be more enjoyable. Great review man I can;’t wait to check it out.
