I have watched both anime and code didn’t attract me like death note.code GEAS is nice but not enough to compare with death note.that’s my opinion.

I’ll do a quick comparison
Death note had a goal that seemed possible, but was never achieve.
Code Geass had a goal that seemed literally impossible but was accomplished against the odds.
Death note had a calm character that took great risks to overcome his enemy(s) at the time
Code Geass had a smart, but unstable character that took insane measures to beat the world countless times
Death note had conflicts that took episodes and almost the entire show to resolve
Code Geass had conflicts that could be settled in less than an episodes, but overall they connected into the overall story and were never forgotten.
Personally I say that Code Geass took the W in this competition because it was a series that took a lot of care to details and even pushed to bring back previous conflicts that were resolved in a rather rash fashion and forced the characters to evolve and over come conflicts time and time again.

Suspense is literally the only category in which Death Note comes even CLOSE to Code Geass. All the others are a definite win by Code Geass. ALL HAIL LELOUCH VI BRITANNIA!

They were both voice actors in the gundam franchise. Light played the original main charcter, Amuro Ray and lelouch played Orga Itsuka
