am i the only one who hates when a squeal takes an old time period and "modernizes" it by inserting tons of technology that has no place being there and no reason to arise near instantly. avatar did this with korra and now borrito is here with computers that came out in what, 10-15 years after the end of naruto?

HIS NAME IS BOLT. "Boruto" is how it is pronounced in Japanese, and how it is written in Katakana (used for foreign words). YES, it is written in Katakana! Meaning that it is a non-Japanese word. He also wears a lightning bolt necklace.

I actually thought the characterization for Naruto in the movie was rather realistic.
He always wanted to be Hokage, so him immersing himself in the role to be the best that he can be is perfectly logical.
Plus he never really had his dad around, so he wouldn’t really know how to be a good father (off the bat anyways).
And I like it because it made Naruto more relatable & a flawed character. I’m tired of all these "perfect parents" they put in stories. They are only there to tug at your heartstrings when they sacrifice themselves to save their kid(s).
Yes, I would’ve liked it more if Naruto spent more time w/ his son, but it was a necessary sacrifice to ensure the village has the best Hokage possible.
And I like how it switched the role of "mentor" to Sasuke.
All & all the movie wasn’t that good, because it didn’t spend enough time showing what the old characters were doing, nor did it take the time out to properly introduce & highlight the new characters of the series.

Naruto was never really a cock. at the end of 700, I really dislike Boruto. Because in the Last we can clearly see that Naruto is beloved by his family and he loves them all. Naruto dream was to become hokage which he got. Now he focus on what a hokage does. And boruto lashing out at his father due to Naruto being so busy which Kishimoto reflexes that on his own family. The characters aren’t really OOC. cause how many years how past since the Last shinobi arc? They grew up. they had kids. the changed but most still act the same. Samurai never had a child before so now that cheering on Sarada is consider ooc? she did this with Naruto too back in part 1. Sasuke is still being the same as he was in part 1 but helping Boruto understand Naruto’s struggle. and it even shows that Naruto doesn’t really know how to be a father since he never really had one around. Boruto name really isn’t bad considering that it’s combine with neji who means screw and Minato which is yellow flash which was a name that was never intended for the English language to understand. this movie showed the problems that I had with 700 which brought more a closer to the series. other then that I agree on the lame villain and the rest of the review.

As much as i love Naruto (the anime) and Naruto (himself),
I really hated Boruto (the anime) and Boruto (himself).
How could they change Naruto’s personality as easily as that??
He was the exact opposite of himself!!
And Naruto and Hinata’s lovelife was so shallow.
Also, they made poor Hinata a stay-in mom. Sakura looks better than her!
So let’s just say I didn’t get a good night sleep after having a marathon of the last movie and the Bolt movie. :T

Yeah agreed, that part of the Pain animation is not even that bad looking.
The scene were Naruto knife battles Animal Path in the air for several seconds on the other hand… Jesus. I know that shippuden was good at doing stilted animations that were long and awkward. But man is that scene jarring. In manga that one literally just one panel. However in the manga you didn’t think they were floating in the air for couple seconds.
Of course I could be talking off my ass and mixing up everything in my memory.

Naruto and Hinata never had good parental figures in their lives when they were young, Sakura and Sasuke (kind of) did. Not to mention he’s never tackled anything like management. How is he supposed to know how much time to spend with his family if he never really had one?
Naruto commands so much power and respect and has done so much for the world that if this was real life, he would probably be some sort of deity to a lot of people. No one can really put him in his place if he’s doing something wrong (but maybe Kakashi and his friends, who aren’t really in a position to help).
He isn’t perfect, and this expectation that he should be (especially in an area that he absolutely SHOULDN’T be) shows a gross misunderstanding of how characters in Naruto develop.
There are reasons Kishimoto made this the case.

Anime is plagued with stupid names. I should know, I’ve been a fan of anime for most of my life. In the titles alone they have so many nonsensical words that are there for no purpose. Then take the names of characters: Banniker Links from the new Gundam, almost everyone in the Dragonball franchise, Bobobobobobobo(I honestly don’t know how many bo’s are supposed to be in that one), Monkey D. Luffy and I’m sure there are ones that haven’t come to mind here and you probably know a few. Why do they do that? I mean American celebrities’ kid’s names are the only thing that can rival that level of stupid in forms of identification.

I feel as though you haven’t seen the last movie after credits scene when naruto is shown loving his family…or the ova special day naruto became hokage….if you noticed Naruto became hokage when boruto recently became a ninja at like age 10 so Naruto did spend time with his kids ..its just recently things changed

I disagree with your villain standpoint. it makes sense that the villian is momoshiki because it is a continuation of the original series and considering that the series is a shounen it makes sense that the villian is of equal if not greater strength than both Naruto and Sasuke which in their world they are considered God’s.
and if the villain was connected with that ninja weapon that villian wouldn’t be nearly as strong as Sasuke or Naruto, and would be dispatched quickly. also if the said villian would be as strong as Sasuke or Naruto, it woul do nothing but confuse the audience since that character was never mentioned in the original series, giving no reference point to his strength and wether it makes sense that character is as strong as Naruto or Sasuke, which both those characters took over 700 chapters to abtain the power they currently have.

Boruto turning out just like naruto but Boruto doesn’t have the 9 tails backstory, isn’t an orphan, and doesn’t possess any real adversity because he was born through the strongest bloodline.
Naruto somehow being a worse parent than his dead parents, because apparently Hinata is so much of a background character she can’t actually be a real parent either.
The military institution of the villages still creates the same problems and nothing is solved. So it’s just a repetitive/circular machine that breeds chaos by trying to fight the chaos it created.(see nagato, madara, orochimaru, etc. etc.).
So not only did Naruto accomplish relatively nothing for his world outside of "beating the final, final, final badguy" he couldn’t even be a good enough parent.
Given that the first 1/2 of the show keeps highlighting how bad his life is because of XYZ, this is just the worse writing you can possibly imagine in this scenario.

I’m kinda upset with Boruto. I wish they hadn’t mad all these advances in the Ninja world. Had it been the same way as it was with Tsunade (minus war and tension) Naruto would have mad the perfect Hokage and dad. Now he has much to do. In his office did you see all the paper work! Even Tsunade (laziest hokage ever lol) didn’t have that much. Naruto is overwhelmed. The times have changed in the Ninja world. Even with the shadow clone technique his is really only one person. He needs like a Vice Hokage or something. Idk. I just wish it was the same setting as when Naruto was growing up.
