bakugo could end up being the 3rd best hero in history with that power… he can boost his speed, blast himself in any direction, blind people… he could eventually fly using mini explosions I mean…

January 8, 2020 @ 12:38 pm
anyone realised that bakugou never used close range explosions against deku when he had the chance?
throughout the short exchange bakugou had deku twice in close range with no guard at all but while he could have badly injured or even kill him bakugou didnt use explosions to attack him,
seems like this is similar to their first fight, bakugou also didnt hit deku with something that could have created lasting damage or even cause broken bones >_>
PS: am i the only one who thinks that 8% kick of deku shouldnt cause much damage except for some numbness for bakugous arm? afterall his body constantly tanks ALL his explosions, getting badly injured by 8% while 5% (without equipment) was only at the lvl of a trained athlete doesnt seem that likely :/

Your question on relevancy is really interesting, but I know you have basic understanding of the current Marvel and DC super hero worlds
Look at Superman in the DC world, and then Batman for instance. Superman is INCREDIBLY powerful, almost OP. Yet somehow, simple people like Hawkgirl, Flash and Zatanna can have more than just a niche role in a conflict. And with Batman, he is just as, maybe even more, loved than Superman. Power doesn’t exactly equate with their role, they can have certain roles that they fill that are more than just niche.
When looking at Marvel, I think you would’ve seen Civil War by now, but even then, you look at the Avengers and Thor is a god yet Captain American and simple Ironman steal the show. With the Xmen, Jean Grey and Prof X can be seen as the most powerful, yet characters like Wolverine, Cyclops and Beast have distinct roles that aren’t equated with their power levels.
Then again, I look at shounen and seen Naruto or DBZ and weak characters DO fall to the side in a lot of cases, but even people like Sakura (not memeing) may not be physically strong, but def have good points. Or like Armin in Attack on Titan or even Hawk in Seven Deadly Sins.

The only way the other characters will remain relevant is…
1. Big boss battles with side battles
2.minor characters holding off until Midoriya can arrive.

I know its a little late but the real question is, at what percent do you think Izuku will be stronger than Bakugou, and at what percent do you think he will be at the end of the first year of school?

Well, everyone has to remember that they’re all kids still. This is Bakugo at 15 and then you imagine him in his prime and it’s pretty scary. Explosions are powerful and really what they are is that their a combination of force so powerful that friction ignites whatever element into fuel for even more concussive force (don’t quote me on this, btw I’m no physics major) and he can also tank this at point blank with no real damage to his body, it’s a scary power and he’s only a teenager and still has room to grow.
Of course their will be a gap, Bakugo isn’t the MC but him and characters like Todoroki and others can keep up, it’s still a shonen at heart and they will have to be progressive threats and judging by how the story is going so far, think of Izuku being Superman and everyone else being the rest of the Justice League and we all know superman beats everyone in terms of power and strength and is only really defeated via circumstance but that doesn’t mean Wonder Woman and Flash and ect aren’t OP
At least that’s my theory.

Chibi, regarding your worry over the other characters catching up with Izuku in terms of strength when he does reach greater heights, I personally wouldn’t worry over it too much. Horikoshi is a great writer, he can always make up the difference in character strengths in terms of characterization, tactics, and what their unique quirk can do that Izuku just can’t, like the girl who specializes in making gear, Izuku just doesn’t have that kind of "strength" that she brings to the table you get me, its how they work together to save others and them coming up with a plan.
On that same note, you’re looking at it, at least from my perspective, as if we should compare everyone’s power levels to see who’d win in a fight, but it’s not about that. The goal is for the kids to bring their quirks to their max potential and learn to work alongside each other in a world of super heroes and super villains. Sure, pure unadulterated power in the form of One for All against nearly any and all adversaries means GG, but if you’ve read this far in the story, you should know it’s not going to be just that.

(I havent read all the manga yet so sorry if this is completly wrong) thinking about how powerful Deku will become in the long run doesn’t it come back around? Assuming he gives the power away once he is old enough like ALL MIGHT he will star to loose power and once again will be quirkless while his friends will still be at the peak of their power if All Mights freinds are anything to go by. So no matter how powerful Izuki gets, because he has one for all it stands to reason all his friends will be able to supass him at some point, even Bakaugou because eventaully when he is much older he will grow weaker first then become quirkless once more.

I get Bakugou being annoyed at Izuku for getting up and smiling no matter how much he beats him. What I don’t get is Why did he Start beating Izuku in the first place? Did he just do it because he can? Does he just like to pick on those who are weaker than him??

Regarding the power ups I don’t necessarily think the others need to reach their fighting levels
The other have so much unique abilities that they could stay relevant even when they can’t fight head on
Ochako could potentially have everyone at her side fly
Tsuyu can go invis
Iida is still probably gonna lead with his brains
Etc….

With Izuku’s power level you have to remember that it’s been regularly stated that the gap between All Might and the rest of the heroes was disproportionately huge. Bakugo and Todoroki will probably be the closest but the nature of One for All means the big power gap is basically inevitable. I think it just means when we get to end-game conflicts Izuku will have to be the one taking on the main bad guy, which we would expect in the latter parts of a series anyway.

Great chapter review. This is amazing and I’m proud of Izuku and you’re right about Allmight,All for one and the power scalling of Izuku and how strong he is gonna be since Allmight was weaker than in his prime every time we saw him going in.

12:26 To answer your question, EXACTLY how *All Might and the other Pro heroes are relevant*
We all know for a fact that All Might is the absolute strongest, but the rest of the pro still shine as bright as him.
The same thing is going on with the UA students. I really don’t think this show is going to undermine any of the students at all.

I like how Horikoshi is having Izuku’s power rise slowly. It’s not a sudden mega power up that happened out of he blue: Izumi truly worked for and earned his limit increase. Shows that the author is in this for the long haul. At the rate this is going I’m expecting there will be a time skip of some sort in the future (+3% every 100 chapters would be thousands of chapters- not that I would mind, due to Horikoshi’s glorious writing skills :p).

Against the first Nomu, All Might mentioned that he was somewhere around 1/10 as powerful as his prime. So Deku’s def got a lot of growth coming. Wih that said, his power is someyhing that he’ll probanly rarely be able to release at full force because of how easily it can kill so the instances where his power level could create problems for othersin chsracters staying relevent shouldn’t be too frequent.
Also Todoroki’s abilities should outclass Endeavor’s who’s already #2, #1 now technically, and ridiculously powerful in his own right, but Bakugou looks like he might end up surpassing even that. In the end, I hink they’ll be able to keep up enough to where hey don’t seem like after thoughts at least til the final saga however that ends up going down.

Chibi, there’s not much reason to worry about the relevance of the sid characters in this case for a very simple reason: All Might’s existence didn’t make the other Heroes irrelevant, Even if Midoriya becomes stronger than All Might was, he’s not gonna be able to be everywhere at once. simple as that.
Also, Midoriya won’t become THAT much more powerful than All Might, All for One stacks the strenght of the previous users to it’s current User, so he’ll basically have All Might’s power + his own physical strenght.
