Anime only’s aren’t ready for the second-core of this season, just you wait. Unfortunately, I did hear a credible rumor that it’s likely that the second half of season 3 won’t arrive until sometime in 2019, so we’ll all have to hold our breaths a little longer. your timeline is a little off, it’s not major though. Reiner and Berthold broke the gate first. At that time Eren’s father was away in another part of the walls (maybe inner? it’s never clear) doing doctor stuff. After the breach his father THEN attacked the Reiss family, maybe to steal the power, maybe to keep it from being stolen by Reiner and Berthold, again, not clear. After stealing the coordinate titan (and killing most of the Reiss family) he finds Eren, injects him, gets eaten, and passed the powers onto Eren.
Also, as a note, Eren’s father was a shifter, that’s how he attacked the Reiss family, so when he stole the Coordinate he had two titan shifter abilities, which he then passed onto Eren.

I just heard an unsettling rumor. That with the end of episode 12 for Season 3 we will have a hiatus before they show us the 2nd half of the season. Not sure how long this will be but according to NHK listings for episodes in japan there is no AoT for the next 3 weeks listed after episode 12 premieres FeelsBadMan.jpeg
