Fortunately they don’t show this in the anime, but in the manga….he doesn’t. In fact, he gets more turned when he realizes that Armin was a "dirty boy."

I will clarify the Ymir’s thing tho. From the episode, you can see that they were being injected with something that they didn’t want and then they changed to titans. This would seem more like a punishment or execution of sorts, no?
Ymir eats a titan shifter and hence was able to become a more mindful titan, according to your theory. That’s really smart and accurate.
