You really need to check out the dub for this episode. I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Eren’s English VA really upped his game in this episode.

Did they figure out the animals in the intro were just "beasts" to resemble the beast titan? And that the red dots were just their hearts. Or is it that I am the one who’s missing something? Was it not just symbolic?

Also, Eren couldn’t transform because he was still healing from when Reiner cut him up into pieces, a few episodes back. When a Titan Shifter’s actual human body takes serious injury, like limbs being chopped off, it takes them a good while before they can transform into a titan again.

Bertholdt is the Collasal and takes more time to recharge. Even Reiner didn’t want to transform until it was nighttime but the Erwin retrieval squad forced their hand.

Yes I am not the only one who doesn’t like Mikasa… She has almost no personality and only plot armor… For a show where all the characters have such strong and distinct personalities I find her presence useless… If you just want badassery Levi exists with actual personality…

The Colossal Titan uses a ton of energy, that’s one the reasons Bertholt dissapeared right after destroying the walls, if Reiner and Eren were tired to transform, imagine Bertholt.

This is not a spoiler just a theory that does not cotain any because there is still no real good info about the specific of time before the wall even after the last season, i made sure to word this so that i dont use info from future episodes. I think there was a kinda high tech age millions of years ago and humans came up with something that caused us to turn into titans with the idea that bigger is better or titans were created through expierments to envole humanity but things got out of control but for some reason (chemical warfare or something) the world started going through a apocalypse similar to a zombie outbreak but with titans. Now the last remaining parts of normal humanity (on this side of the world) is stuck in these walls that were made to protect them from titans but with no resources to alot of the outside world humanity basically started from 0 again and no longer had any advanced tech and just forgot about a time outside the walls

Mikasa’s ribs were broken and would’ve had too much trouble even breathing if she tried to fight. She could’ve very well died if she fought the Titan that killed Eren’s mother, as well as all the other titans that were surrounding them.

Bertholt couldn’t transform because the collosal titan can only transform once everyday due to the immens cost of energy to produce that monstrosity
Eren couldn’t transform because he isn”t fully recovered yet (his hands are still healing).
Mikasa can’t fight because she has a broken ribs. As to why she didn’t untie eren sooner, maybe because there are so much happening. She couldn’t even know what to do first.
