The first promo they first shown for DBZ before it aired was Dead zone the movie promo. When Toonami was being hosted by Moltar.

+bigevil1001 yes. It used the song White Zombie – Super Charger Heaven. Someone uploaded it on youtube. I’m not sure if it’s still on-line though. It has some karate guy talk about fighting someone in the world finals or something. He says how he anticipated the move and hit back fast. The opponent was down in a matter of seconds, not knowing what happened due to speed. Then he goes on to say "Last night, I saw Dragon Ball Z – I never knew what hit me!"
And you have the promo guy say "DBZ a brand new show coming to CN – Youll never know what hit you!"

I read a magazine, everybody knows it as Shonen Jump. They said that Dragonballz is getting replaced with Naruto. Okay But also said that Naruto is was going to be greater than DBZ on Toonami. Naruto was good in all with the marathons and some good 2 min promos. But everybody knew that DBZ was still the number one show on toonami back to back. Toonami hook Dragonballz up. Then Funimation cranked it up during the ginyu saga with the Bruce Faulconer music. New episode everyday after school.
