In addition to what you said, I was continually depressed by the sexualization of the characters, which was far worse than anything else in rebuild or the original series. Constant shots at questionable angles and making Asuka nude, wearing a torn up plug suit and all that garbage. It was honestly disgusting and some of those were put in at the worst times where the story was supposed to seem serious and I literally just clicked off it at that point and came back in a few minutes when I wasn’t ticked off
