One of The Best Series From Spring 2018 | Megalo Box Episode 13 Finale
With the conclusion of Megalo Box from Spring of Anime 2018… I can definitely say this was one of the best series from this season. Megalo Box Episode 13 may have not ended the way we expected, but it truly was a great sendoff to these characters. Hopefully one day we get a season 2.
Love you all so much thank you for all the support!

I loved this show! The ending left me a bit unsatisfied but hey, at least Joe is alive.

That still with them throwing a punch at the same time was the end of the fight and the final blow. You can see Joe lands the punch while Yuri kind of misses a direct hit. I really liked how they ended the fight, this was never a typical fighting anime

A lot of ppl are talking about how confusing this episode was, and I was too tbh. But it actually makes sense, and builds a lot for a second season and really fits well when you think about it. Yuri and Joe both mentioned how they would punch one more time and how it was it. Before the time skip. Yuri is in a wheelchair because I believe Shirako said once he sits down he’s not gonna get back up, after all the strain his body has been going through. You can also tell that Joe won based on how the scorpion has reached its end destination and how it hasn’t drowned in to the river with the frog. It’s still living and not brought down by nature like Joe has, defying his expectations and orders to surpass and do the impossible. After looking it over, the episode finale really begins to settle well with me.
(Oh yea the end card says Joe wins btw, at the exact time it said on the match clock where the cut to the future)

Why are so many people shitting on eachother for putting out their own oppinions? All of us may not agree with one another, but it doesn’t mean that we all need to be asses about it.

I feel like I completely got the message of the anime, I wasn’t wrong!
It was an excellent anime. The art, the soundtrack, the characters and the feeling, the message. Maybe the story wasn’t that great but considering it’s a tribute and has 13 episodes, excuse me, it’s way better and more mature than other "modern" or "shounen" anime in my opinion.

Did anyone else think that "Not dead yet" was referring to their inner beasts? That their inner beasts were craving the fight and "not dead yet" meant that they weren’t satisfied yet?
Because after the last fight, both Yuri and Joe were satisfied and gave up boxing, allowing the beasts to finally die.
Am I crazy?

Timeskip really threw me off and the way they just said Joe won without seeing it was disappointing

They showed that Joe won at the end, 7 matches, 7 wins and 0 losses.

Yeah, if we ever get a 2nd season i’d like Joe and Yuri to be coaches for two new heroes who enter the new Megalo Box tournament (and they can then go crazy with gear designs and ideas).

I loved the parallel of dancing and fighting created in this episode, because it just showed how fighting is more artistic than one can imagine and how the characters just wanted a ‘dance partner’ essentially and not the most powerful or best person that most shounens go for but that one other person who they shared the same rhythm with.

I think this last episode was rushed. I didn’t like how we didn’t get to see the whole fight between Yuri and Joe. Also I didn’t like how we didn’t get to see Yuri get knocked out.

Im glad the ending was nothing but good vibes and wholesome energy. I was expecting it to crush me in the heart, but im glad we got a legitimately good ending.

Is stated that the fight never had a result, so probably at the end of a round, yuri couldnt fight more because of the post cirurgy and joe wasnt given victory cause he couldnt no fight anymore too, something around those lines.
And yes Yuri has been paralized due to this fight.

I’m so confused, I never got the implication that Joe would die. Since episode 1 I thought it was pretty clear he would win or at the very least get to the finals, lose to Yuri but accept it.
If people are comparing this to Ashita no Joe then that’s just really dumb. This is a reinvention, not the same thing. You can hate it but don’t put it down because it isn’t like the original, it was never planning to be.

Wasn’t that final punch we saw "the" decisive punch? The last bit at the end after the credits said the time and round that Joe won by KO and I think that was the time the final punch that we saw took place.
