SAO abridged literally has to follow the canon of the show. The ENTIRE premise of the second season in SAO is Kirito hacking The Alfhiem and rescuing Asuna from a deviant predator. It was always going to be an issue that SWE had to deal with. They’re taking it seriously, and they’re only doing jokes where they can. Thankfully, most of this arc is about Kirito, Yui, and Suguha, which is we already seen, they’re totally SWE-ing Suguha’s character for the better.

Well, think about it. They need a villain for this arc more than they did in Abridged Aincrad arc. They need to really make you hate him. They didn’t try this with Heithcliff because Heithcliff was supposed to relate to Kirito. For me at least, they’ve had different emotion for different scenes, not just funny.

Personally, I think they were aiming at disturbing. I don’t think the original SAO staff ever grasped the concept of how creepy this was. Hell, what parent marries off their unconscious teenage daughter? Well, Something Witty showed you the kind of parent and kind of person that would arrange this. PS: remember this Asuna wields kitchen cutlery really well, and isn’t passive. Should be interesting, and full of eye stabs.
