If you have netflix you can watch English Dub audio with subtitles as well so you can read.

That’s the most dramatic reaction to Light’s killing montage I’ve seen…
Also I recommend dub for this show, it has a heavy load of logical and deductive dialogues, ppl can miss or misunderstand info watching the sub.

The apples you see Ryuk eating also symbolize the ‘forbidden fruit’ because it is generally thought to be the fruit mentioned in the biblical book of Genesis in which the snake told Eve that eating the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil would give her the same status as God. Light’s goal is to become a ‘god’, therefore confirming this theory.
