You got something very wrong. You said that in the great scheme of things 5 minutes is not a lot. Are you kidding? Even in a normal fight 5 minutes is AGES! Have you ever seen serious real life fights? There is a lot of footage on police fights, security fighting people or just straight up MMA fights. Watch some of this stuff because that is more REAL fighting compared to sports like boxing where you are bound to certain strict rules. What I am trying to say is, fights are usually decided once one of the fighters finds a one second opening they can abuse. After such an opening fights barely last for 5 more seconds on average. Surviving 5 minutes against a super human with a power so good at killing is a stupidly amazing feat. On top of that Overhaul can attack from all damn angles at once. Also, Mirio was protecting Eri at the same time! Honestly, I cannot fathom how Mirio was supposed to do all that for 5 minutes. Gonna be honest. The mangaka probably overdid it with that statement because most people, with no fighting experience, will not understand how crazy that is.
I could try an analogy I guess. A quirkless person surviving 5 minutes against Overhaul is way more impressive than an untrained 10 year old child winning a marathon against adult athletes. It is like jumping out of a plane without a parachute and surviving completely unharmed. I cannot stress this enough. Mirio without his quirk is way stronger than most pro heroes are with quirks.
Mirio proves that Midoriya crying that he is too weak without a quirk just means Midoriya did not work hard enough. Mirio even now, quirkless, would make a very productive and good hero in this society. In episoe 2 I think it was that All Might initially told Midoriya that you cannot be a hero without a quirk. Mirio has proven that to be wrong. Mirio has proven that sheer effort can get you there. So shame on you Midoriya, Mirio is 100% better than you.
Also, am I the only one that never even suspected that Mirio could ever become evil? He is the purest, nicest person ever in this entire show. He is the perfect nice person that you want to be saved by. And even now in his quirkless state, this guy tries to stay positive, cheers up everyone around him, tries to give Eri a happy everyday life. Nothing gets this man down. He will always be a hero.

I like this manga, but as I read more and more of it, it comes across as being far too similar to Naruto.

Call me crazy, but I don’t think that mirio lost his power. I think he’s just prentending that he lost his power because he didn’t want that guy to try to shoot erin again and going after him woudn’t have been a good choice, despite mirio being so fast, overhaul is fast too and could try harm her. That time when he touched her head he got to dodge her from the route of the bullet and activated his quirk in the last instant, and that’s why his clothes seemed that was being perforated by the bullet. I’m not so sure about this but if he did what I said, the best thing to do was to pretend that he lost his quirk and hold up until help comes.

Togata is the reverse midoriya. Born with a quirk trained to be the number 1 hero against all odds got to the top of the rankings with that ability loses said quirk if he never regains his quirk will probably still continue to be a hero who is quirkless but was born with one vs deku who was born quirkless received a op quirk will rise to the top after mastering it but saw life as a hero as hopeless without a quirk
