I know you probably won’t see this but the reason Armin’s lie was effective on bertolt was because bertolt and Reiner did not know Annie was captured or discovered until he said that.

Reiner and Bertholdt werent there when Annie vs Eren fight was taking place…..they were with connie,sasha,historia,ymir at the castle where beast titan was attacking them…those two events were taking place simultneously…..so they have no way of knowing that what happened to annie…bertholdt was so taken aback by Armin’s comments the first time because they were surprised to know how could the scouts know that annie was a titan…that added to fact that scouts also knew reiner and bertholdt were titans too…that means annie might have opened up and armin’s saying they got that information by torturing annie seemed true

JAAAAAKKKKKEEEE your post-episode discussion was FIRE!! You truly understand what this show is trying to convey, you are honestly one of my favourite reactors for this series. You notice all the small hints/clues the show is giving you and you make logical conclusions, You understand the emotional turmoil the characters are going through and the moral dilemmas they have to overcome to do what needs to be done. I can’t wait for the next episode already!
