What I really like about this arc is: It puts a spotlight on some of the students who really didn’t have it until now, and shows us what potential they may have in the future.

19:33 To answer your question, it hasn’t been that long since the start of UA. The start of season 2 takes place the day after where season 1 left off, so it may actually take a while for them to get out into the world. They’ll tell you how long has passed by the end of the season. But you can rest assured, they won’t be slacking off. Their first year isn’t over yet and they still have a lot to learn.

About Momo: I’ve always been super interested in just how ecstatic her reaction is when the others ask her to tutor them in 2×21. It leads me to believe that she’s never had many friends, or maybe never had any real friends at all, and it seems likely that that kind of social isolation would be just as detrimental to her self-confidence as something like the fight with Tokoyami was. That’s why I see her growth as more of a two episode thing, even though this is obviously the episode that was mainly focused on her; we get to see her decision-making and confidence in battle improve here, and we get to see her social skills and confidence around other people improve in the episode prior. (I basically just love this girl a LOT.)

I was never really a fan of Momo until this episode, i think it’s pretty obvious a big part of her character is fan service, but previous to this episode i never really took her too seriously, she just seemed like the ‘perfect, pretty, rich girl with an amazing quirk, who is also super smart, just to add to her lvl 100 unbeatable stats’, but after this episode i really connected a lot more with her character, i mean who in her shoes would be able to deal with this idea of trying to be ‘the perfect hero’, let alone at the age of 15/16? It’s not just Deku, Bakugou and Todoroki that are aiming for the top here, she probably is too.
I can only imagine the amount of pressure she must feel, and to then go and compare yourself to the other student who got in on recommendation, the guy who came in 2nd at the sports festival (who probably could have won if it wasn’t for the parents of the year and tragic anime backstory) who has been genetically bred to be the future number 1 Hero in the world. Like omg Momo, my sweet little angel, it will be okay, im here and i love you.
I know a lot of people in the fandom still see her as the ‘fanservice girl’ but lowkey she’s kinda my fave girl character. Her story about basically being an anxious mess because she feels like she has so much to live up to is such a basic little backstory to give to someone but i feel like i really fits her perfectly because you’d think she’d be so confident in herself based on how she dresses and carries herself, but for her to freak out under pressure really made me respect her more as a character and view her as an actual person and not some object for fanservice.

I ship Todomomo 🙂 I know Tododeku is very cute, but Todo and Momo just got me with their vibe this ep, and in general. So encouraging and kind.

With doing Attack on Titan I would very much recommend the subtitled version over the dubbed one, as would a lot of fans. The Dub is fine to watch though you tend to find the sub has more emotion to it, even with Joey from GeekHouse, he original did dubbed but after seeing the dubbed for the 3rd episode he thoroughly agreed the sub is better.

Fun Fact: Momo produces the matryoshka dolls as her go to creation as it is the first thing she created with her quirk as a child.
