My Hero Academia Chapter 218 might have just introduced a manga Joker. Its very obvious Horikoshi-sensei loves Batman after certain scenes in the Overhaul Arc. Now the start of this arc references the Joker. Overall a great start to this new arc of the series. Ready for My Hero Academia Chapter 219 Review?

Horikoshi did a LOT of world building this chapter. Destro probably formed the Meta Army about 35-50 years ago before the current day. Japan banning quirks usage in public also fits with their culture as The Meiji era outlawed swords and guns except for public servants so Quirks is a logical extension but if for whatever reason America becomes relevant, I am pretty sure that Quirks would not be banned and I think that would be an interesting dichotomy to explore.

Definately getting a Norman Osbourne vibe from the son if destro, but Joker is definitely in there too. Both characters are similar anyhow.

As a Joker fanatic I saw it right away. Hell tbh, it reminded me more of Nicholson’s Joker. Though this means Horokoshi needs to bring in Knuckle Duster since that’s My Hero’s Batman.

i think we got 3 hints about new villain s character
1- he obsess his goal, he can do anything ANYTHİNG for his goals like othar villains (shigaraki, stain, overhaul)
2- he is more cruel than overhaul. it means this arc will darker than overhaul arc
3-has a weak mind (he let people s thoughts effect on him, i mean he could have didnt care miyashita but just because his thoughts, he killed him.)
-i know a lot of people want to focus on jsut baku and todo but i hope we can see deku and shigaraki a lot too. and i hope todo and baku can experience something like "losing" or "feeling too powerless" or "how much can villains go far" or "victim s thoughts" or "villain s reasons". it really will disappointing if they dont learn something from their experience/fights.
deku is learning a lot from every fight. he can empathize with victims, he can understands villain s reason and he can see heroes/society changes, he cares every person inculding villains as a true hero. i hope baku and todo can be like him too or i will be really really disappointed :/
–LoV is really in big danger now, i hope destro s son can keep his promise and really destroy them and shigaraki can come back for revenge as a stronger than before.
cant wait to see this arc. i hope i can see deku and shigaraki a lot with every arc. because they are the most important characters in this story. others are important too but this two is on another level about importance of this story.

With the way this arc is starting to shape up a scary thought just crossed my mind.
Bear in mind this not a theory but something that has been crawling in the back of my head for some time and re watching the anime and manga has only made it just stand out more. Now we all know that "All for One" has been grooming Shigaraki to be his successor from the beginning. And now that the Quirk liberation Army or "QLA" has their sights on the League of villeins, with Destro’s successor leading the charge, what if our worst fear comes to pass; The break out. Granted there is no evidence of this right now other than some cryptic comments made by "Scar face" (All for One). But what if the QLA not only dose the break out but their chutzpah impresses "All for One" that he decides to toss Shigaraki aside and make Destro’s son his right hand man just to screw with Shigaraki. We all know that’s something he’d do.
If this happened We all know how Shigaraki would take it. The city would burn. Now all "All for One" just sits back and watches these two tear the city apart for revenge just to see whose really worthy of the final stage of his plan. Transferring "All for One" to the winner. It’s pretty obvious that "All for One" is one his last legs since he wants Shigaraki to be the next him, both figuratively and literally. It would stand to reason that he’d want Shigaraki to be twisted enough to house "All for One". Now add a potential rival/replacement to the mix, it dosen’t look good for the heroes. If Shigaraki wins just imagine how much more dangerous he’d be with "All for One" augmenting his powers. Worse still, with what we’ve learned about "One for All" just imagine "All for One" resting nicely in Shigaraki’s head giving him advice or just out right taking over his body.

I think hirokoshi also shows how media also misrepresent heroes as well. Media shows heroes as pretty much ‘angels’ yet we all know most of them are anything but. Hirokoshi shows us how the media manipulates our perceptions of ideals people etc.
