Anyone notice Boruto’s sweater vest is red, looks similar to Marty McFly’s coat. Coincidence?

It’s intresting that you took it that way, about the exact time this occurred I mean. Because Tsunade referred to it as such, "Do you know about the incident that occurred yesterday….a gennin deserted the village." I took it as such: Sasuke had left the village yesterday, but if that’s so, then how come naruto isn’t with shikamaru and the others getting him back, since they left in the morning? And Sakura seems just fine, which…is odd, considering what happened just last night.

But your interpretation of it makes more since canonically. What Tsunade was referring to as "yesterday" meant the entire event of the whole Sasuke thing, which includes Naruto and Sasuke’s battle. So this was a day after the mission had concluded. Very good interpretation, I wish they would’ve made that a bit more clear in the episode tho, lol.

I think we’re building to the Valley at the End battle w/ Ura showing up after their bout, while Naruto is knocked out

Last 3 to 5 minutes was the best part of the episode, when boruto walked in his dad home and saw nothing, empty, nothing but a table with boxes of ramen and milk…the boy was lonely his whole life…had NOTHING…boruto starts to understand and it seems to see he takes for granted all the pictures of family on his wall at home, his couch, his bedroom, all the little things to him, his father never had….his father had a room to sleep and box of food…..THATS SOME DEEP STUFF…not Jiraiya giving boruto binoculars or "the pervy" they spend soo much time pushing with Jiraiya smh….i think this time travel helps boruto to understand his dad more and why he doesnt know how to be a dad and how he only know to protect everyone …damn shame writers could only get 3 to 5 minutes of GEM in a 23 minute episode smh

Btw, what di you think about the lack of internal dialogue in the show Boruto? I suspect that it’s a large reason why Naruto is different from Boruto. I think having characters self reflect or make observations about other characters adds a little more to the show. Idk if I’m explaining this right

I would like Boruto see how tough life was for the previous generation. The writers should show how bad young Sasuke’s mental state was. I’d like Sasuke to tell Boruto about how far off the right path he himself was or maybe show it to him using genjutsu. Boruto should learn how shit Hiashi was as a dad to Hinata, who he almost kicked out of the clan and how he tortured Neji using that mark on his forehead against him and how strict he was with Hanabi. That should chance Boruto’s view on his grandfather. It’s too bad that Team 7 aren’t all there, excluding Konohamaru. Konohamaru would struggle too much with the situation of Hiruzen recently dying around that time and seeing Asuma still being alive. Tsunade doesn’t have her face carved into the mountain so Hiruzen probably died shortly before. Anyway, we could have had some great character development for Sarada and Mitsuki as well in this arc if they’d come along. They could’ve seen their parents at their worst and learnt from it, because experiencing it first hand is better than having it being told to them second hand. I really hope the writers don’t make this another wasted potential arc, like, sadly, most of the Boruto anime.
