Records of Ragnarok, they screwed up almost ever scene that the Adam vs Zeus fight could be simplified into a powerpoint presentation at your local arts school as to how you should NOT animate

Berserk was actually good once you got past the bad CGI…but that’s do to the great source material and the voice actors doing one hell of a job.

I was really surprised when One Punch Man S2 didn’t make the list. I was less surprised that season 2 of Negima missed out, given its age, but that really was the train wreck to end all train wrecks… the animation quality wasn’t too bad, but the plot was a tangled mess. Probably the classic problem of running out of material.
Black Clover was also panned on its initial release, although I gather it’s settled down now.

Way of the House Husband is not a failure, it only "bombed" because Western audiences were told it was an anime and would be fully animated. Japanese audiences knew what they were getting and it was successful. It isn’t a traditional animated show, it should have been advertised as voice acted/slightly animated panels.

As "bad" as the 2016 Berserk was, and I admit it was seriously rough, I’d defend it for the sole fact that it at least isn’t another adaptation of the Golden Age arc.

I’m noticing a bit of a pattern when it comes to the recent Anime. They start off with a strong first or second season, only to completely rush the story towards the finale, thus taking away further potential character development and plot points, just so the fans can have their quick and happy ending. It’s happened in Castlevania and The Promised Neverland. Both of them should have had at least another season.

Netflix Godzilla trilogy. Singular point wasn’t all that great either. Had like 10 minutes of Godzilla in the entire series.

I really wish people who make these lists would stop using "It wasnt as good as the manga" as a reason to call a show bad. It doesnt mean a show was bad, just that the manga was better. Especially when most people who werent aware of the source material actually really like the anime (House Husband, God of HS and recently Record of Ragnarok)… it just means that it wasnt the best adaptation, but still has a lot of good qualities.

Same to an extent for Promised Neverland… after the "season 1" arc I thought the manga also went really downhill. Didnt surprise me that the anime was not as well received since I was never all that excited about reading the manga even before what was "season 2" ended.

My biggest disappointment is actually a retroactive one: In another world with my smartphone.
I was introduced to the show when it came out, found it fun enough to start buying the light novels on bookwalker. From there, I fell in love with the stories and characters for years. Nowadays, I look back on the butchered anime adaption and cringe, knowing how much better it could have been had they not trimmed the edge off the main character in favor of a bland protagonist.

Personally, I hated the entire series of 7 deadly sins. Any show that has a man turned around and bury his face in a woman’s unmentionables without pernisdion because he’s upset (aww, poor baby) has no place in my house.

I don’t get why Fate Last Encore is here. It was great! Red Saber and her master were fun to watch and the different levels were great too. Now fate Apocrypha on the other hand… while it has Astolfo and Mordred, that’s all it had that was good

The single worst thing anime does to its follow up projects??? Present it to me with no English dubbing. I’m here to watch action and enjoy the story. Not have the illusion broken by constantly looking to the bottom of the screen to read subtitles.

The Promised Neverland should have had at least 3 seasons. First season, totally fine the way it is, the kids discovering the terrible secret and escape. Second session should’ve focused on more discoveries of the outside world, like the demons, history and people who secretly rebel. This could’ve lead the characters and rebels to arm themselves and prepare for a war between humanity vs demons. The third season could then focus on the battle, as well as Isabella secretly working with the other mothers to make them realise the hell they were truly in, this reaching towards the end of the series.
