I think Vegeta and Goku getting punctured is more of a "mentality/awareness type guard." For example, if Vegeta was in a serious fight with Goku and Krillin snuck up behind and hit him with the same type of powerful blast he used this episode, im sure it would only zap Vegeta and stun him for a few moments. So i guess in a way the can ‘lower’ their guard the same way they do their energy? 🙂

Power levels are bullshit. It’s definitely been proven in Super. The fights and shits are cool and amazing but power levels doesn’t make anymore sense.

final form freeza is 4.24 million, full power final form freeza is around 6 million. since his base form is 530,000 and every time he transforms his power doubles

the main reason Frieza kills Dende is that he actually sees him heal Piccolo as he was transforming. If you watch the original you’ll see his expression change when he realizes who’s been healing all of them.

Fun Fact: Nail was actually stronger than Piccolo and was the most powerful Namekian alive up until he and Piccolo fused. He had a power level of 42,000 (meaning he about the same strength as Recoome, Burter, and Jeice respectfully)
After they fused their power essentially combined than multiplied by at least 10 to give them a power level of little lover 1,000,000

To answer your question : yes, Vegeta had to lower his powerlevel for Krillin to mortally wound him. It’s specifically stated in the manga.

Goku at 180k was because of Kaioken. Technically he’s only at 90k in his base form. and he got ONE Zenkai boost, he went to 3 million. Vegeta got like five and he’s only about 2 mil.

I know I’m late but piccolo did experience a difference in the original episode, since he weighs somewhere around 80-100 kilos then with the training gear it would make that 180-200 kilos and would half his normal speed, therefore without the gear he would be at double speed and power.

first form frieza = 500k, 2nd form=1kk, 3rd form = 1.5kk, final form =2kk, frieza 100%= 2.5kk, ssj goku 2.5kk with a chance of going higher, thats from a game for the snes i dont remember the name. My theory on piccolo’s power is: piccolo=18k, nail=60k, fusion = 18k*60k=1.08k, just a little bit stronger than second form frieza. this might all be wrong, just saiyan

Guku was holding back against Ginu, his power is far far greater then 180,000, he was stronger then Frezia up to at least his 2 form, maybe 3 but that kinda a streach, he could at least stand up to that form, then when he comes back healed he can fight with his 4 form, but in no way was he stronger, let alone his 100% till super Sayian.

fusion is multiplicative. if nail had a reasonable power level of 20000, piccolo would only need to be 50 or higher to exceed 1000000
