I’m really disappointed in their reaction to this series. Mostly because they talk over or miss really important parts of the series, and then complain when they don’t understand or when they feel like the jokes don’t land. If they don’t like the series overall, that’s fine, but it’s frustrating that they’re blaming the show when they’re the ones missing really obvious things.

Man, watching the reactions these guys have is truly the saddest, most disappointing, and least fulfilling thing ever cuz they seem to only have a one episode memory span. Seeing a lot of crossepisode refrences ignored or just seeing them go over their heads is truly soulcrushing. 🙁

Seems you guys cant react to this properlly. Cause many things are related fromlast episodes. Like added cat who is poping up. And rossalia "who said – this is the deepest youll gget in a woman". And laughing coffin jeffrey from ep 1. You miss a lot and your memory of episodes are faded. re watch original and watch abridged before reacting. And seems you dont read comments. lot of ppl are pointing out what you missed. But you dont state it in none of ur episdoes.

SAO in this context cannot be considered a "regular MMO". Because it isn’t, they have the threat of dying. They can’t just play around like a video game, they have to treat it like real life. Which means their real personalities will eventually bleed into how they’re acting in the game, or vice versa.
Also regarding the Mary Sue not being talked about until the SAO series and Force Awakens is because typically mainstream things are actually pretty good about NOT having a Mary Sue character. I haven’t watched the Dragon Ball series personally, but from what I hear from people is that Goku does lose and needs to grow. Kirito in the original anime only lost fights because of cheating in one situation, actually two if I recall correctly with the antagonist in Alfheim, and poisoning in another.

The fact that they don’t remember who Rosalia is, among other character, is a testament to how bad the original SAO is. I don’t understand why anyone would prefer SAO over the abridged version.

I knew they would puss out, it was obvious from the first episode and when one said that he like SAO it was doomed to not be funny for him. And I understand that it’s a reaction channel but when you’re talking over important dialog to the point of not paying attention….

Yeah, Erik was better off watching the original. The abridge is worse than the original in my opinion. They had nothing but mostly 9th grade humor and they didnt add most of the fights that was in the original.
It sucks that Erik saw this BS over the original.
I understand that the original wasnt that good but it beats this garbage abridge version.

They spent too much time talking over the previous episodes to follow the subtleties. Suck it Rosalia was a reference to episode 4, i think.
Also, in the anime they edited out Asuna killing Kuradeel and instead they had her say that the commander would punish him; where as in the original novel she straight kills him after the altercation.

I kind of disliked these bois in this series. They didn’t understand the show at all and seemed like they didn’t want to like it. SAO abridged is different because it doesn’t build on your love of SAO(who has that?) but builds on the potential the show had

in the abridged it is cause they are both the same type of person they were going for a loner type that is scared to get close to someone but all at the same time wants everyone to like him but he ends up insulting everyone….so he trys to win them over with power asuna being the only one who can deal with kirito and his cocky attitude sees that he is the same as her except that she can play pretend with others unlike him.

Thanks for giving it a shot! It’s cool if you don’t like it, so many people want to have it validated by agreeing with them but it’s cool that you enjoyed the original so much, and you can definitely love it more than this fan work. The original has the benefit of being well original content.
I loved sao abridged and I think the original is a cool concept show. But for me the two stand alone.
