After finishing the Rebuild series, I can safely say this movie is second best only to EoE and EoE is the undisputed masterpiece of this series. 3.33 and 3.0+1.0 were kind of a let down, too much cgi, not as visually imposing and the ending did not have as much impact as 2.22’s ending. This gives me shivers every time I rewatch it.

I would like to say that I would have preferred to see Asuka fight the last angel instead of the new entry Mari, but I can’t: great new character and great movie. Asuka remains my favorite character of Evangelion anyway :))
