There are a lot of violence scenes.
However, Hayao Miyazaki said: " It is because this is the war".
So, I hope one day we could see a more peaceful world.

3:49 if you notice, the arrow didnโ€™t even go through the guys arms, it pinned the sword to the tree, so the force of the arrow just going through the swordsโ€™ handle while he was holding it was enough to rip the manโ€™s arms off. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Studio Ghibli in short words "Hayao Miyazaki" has the best subliminal message giving anime about life nature and corruption. And princess mononoke is my favourite.
You definitely should react to 1988 "Akira"

Princess Mononoke and Nausicaa and the valley of the wind are two of my favorite Miyazaki films. Highly recommend Nausicaa.

Lady Eboshi wasn’t evil; she wanted to protect the weak, like her leppers and the peasants against the Samurai warriors, especially the woman so they could defend themselves. She had a noble cause but went the wrong way about it when she agreed with the deal of the Emperor’s spy/agent to hunt the Spirit of the Forest. The deal was that the lake, mountain and forest would be hers to do as she pleased, protected by the Emperor. She would win on 2 front; no more attacks by samurai and no more spirits. The most evil character is Jiko-bรด, who even when nice always has an ulterior motive. San can also be seen as evil, the villagers certainly think she is! Only Ashitaka can be considered a hero because he followed Hฤซ-sama elder’s advice; "To look at the world with eyes unclouded by hate." so he tries to understand everybody and only defend himself or the defenseless. He chose a side once he has seen both side of the conflict and tried to broker peace.

Hi! From japan! I think it’s fresh to see your reaction. I was watching this movie when I was 5 years old, but It is strange that I accepted it even if I saw a grotesque scene. Well, that black monster is very scary.
Ghibli is broadcast on TV in the summer in Japan , so I want to see Ghibli in this season.

Yeah, this is one of the greatest animated movies and Studio Ghibli’s best in my opinion. The english dub is amazing well done (usually is with Studio Ghibli films). The story of humans vs nature, and trying to find a balance between them, is powerful.

Itโ€™s the moral ambiguity of the movie that makes it so special. Itโ€™s not a simplistic good guys vs bad guys simplistic Hollywood plot. If anything, the movie approximates the paradoxes of humanity and life. This is why it is unparalleled story telling.

Amazing fact it will blow you mind the girl named kaya at the start of the movie is actually ashikata fiance who gave him the locket. Also it is completely confirmed that she was pregnant with his kid. And his descendent from her passed down his legend. The movie name was first supposed to be legend of ashikata. That is why he has more screen time then monoke. You can even check the wiki fandom of girl name kaya it is real. The japanese women hated his character for him being a cheater. He was shown as brother to her for the western audience. Go check the fandom page of girl named kaya.

I guess the impression about Ghibli movie is little different between Japanese and others.

Because to understand Ghibli movie, you need to understand Japanese culture first. (Especially โ€œspirited awayโ€! You defiantly need to understand Shindo before watching it.)
To understand anime which is not from Ghibli, you donโ€™t need to know about Japanese culture, but for Ghibli, it has a lot of essences based on Japanese culture or traditions.

as soon as I heard they put the full movies up on Patreon I stopped watching. I don’t want to support a mid tier YouTube channel leeching off of work someone put their lives into. This is truly the worst type of content. I don’t mind people not artistically contributing anything but this is plain theft.

I love watching new people watch Princess Mononoke. Originally Disney wanted to cut the gruesome parts, but Studio Ghibli sent a katana to Disney with the Message "No Cuts". So Disney didn’t cut the gruesome parts out but released it through Miramax.
