Shinji’s trip in this episode is… beautiful. Watch it again sometime, and pay close attention to everything that is said; stop the frames that fly through the screen and read what’s written in them. Or even listed to it in the dub. It’s one of the most interesting attempts I’ve ever seen at making someone somehow make peace with who he is… and yet it didn’t work.

Why would Shinji and Rei be mad about the secret that Ritsuko and Gendo are keeping?
Made me think that the Eva should not exist in the 1st place and the Angels existed for the purpose of "renewing" a world.
Am I right to say that Shinji’s mom is physically inside the Eva unit 01? (Remember the 1st plugless entry mentioned on the rebuild?)
Well not that physically, but more like in a primordial state. Just like when Shinji got into that 400% synchronization.

"She’s changing…" I don’t think Asuka is changing. I think she’s just taunting Shinji, and actually in an evil way: she was hoping something bad would happen that would cancel out his "best synch rate" results. She didn’t expect what happened… but look how dismayed she is at the end that Shinji wasn’t punished. Actually, here we see a little of Asuka’s evil side — I always compare this in my mind to her phone call to Kaiji, in which she pretended she was being raped just to make him come running to her.

We’re in it now. It could be argued that the turning point of the series began a few episodes ago, but I think this is the episode that really sets the tone for the rest of the series.

Something… happened in this episode. It’s difficult to say exactly what, but it’s huge. I don’t know how many of us would have able to go through this… merge with the angel and come the other way still being ourselves, but Shinji did. Who is Shinji, and why does he do what he does?… And can he find peace with that?

one of the biggest questions u should ask at this point is
what NERV hidding? Ikari Gendo the commander hidding things from the supervisor of SEELE and he hiding stuff from he’s crew aswell… why would he hidding something from even misato? there alot of quetions under the surface
by the way its obvious the first goal of the human is to servive (or in other world destroy the frat)
and the angels? probebly want to destroy humanity (or save their race) idk exacly
