    Eva 01 is not the one that caused the 2nd impact. But I am unsure if the 2nd impact was caused by Adam or Lilith…

    The Magi aren’t PHYSICALLY her mom or her mom’s brain. The brains you see are organic computers that are simply programmed to think & reason like her mom (in slightly different ways). They don’t feel or speak like people or anything like that, just analyze, compute, and decide with a degree of human intelligence & reason (and human fallibility) instead of JUST computer logic. But, since Ritsuko’s mom is dead, it’s as close her as Ritsuko can get.

    The curious and interesting thing about this episode (besides getting to know more about Ritsuko, her mother, and the magi) is that this is the first time an angel was defeated without the help of the EVAs — Ritsuko did it all by herself, by reprogramming the angel to self-destruct. Not bad, ahn? We already know that Misato is bad-ass and the EVA pilots are bad-asses; now it turns out Ritsuko also is, in her own way.

    NERV, like the production of this anime, just did not have enough money to get that little red hammer to smash the glass. But every other aspect or detail fucking top notch. Especially the Rebuild movies.

    I hope you notice the reused animations, more so than in other animes, and the long pauses focusing on the characters, or speaking and dialogues from angles where it doesn’t have to be animated. It worked out for the best really.

    i really like this episode i like the change of pace a lot and i think the idea of a personality inside a computer difrent aspects of a person making distions of a person thats alrady dead its just cool to think technlogy is like that that hole idea is super cool

    Hey Junk Putty! I would like to suggest a new anime called *Grimoire of Zero* (Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho), currently having 3 episodes (new episodes each monday). You can find the episodes with english subtitles on Amazon.com, under Amazon video (or you can probably find it on some other of those watch anime websites).

    I really hope you will get time to check it out. A very different kind of series, with lots of humor and very interesting characters! 😀
