Just make sure you live react to the movie you’re golden. The series does not officially end until you’ve seen the self titled movie.
It is currently ranked the 90th best film of all time on Letterboxd, a site that contains the majority of all documented films ever made.
Just enjoy the ride though man! Make sure you pay close attention but also make sure you enjoy the ride, it’s aesthetic, well produced, with fantastic characters. You won’t soon forget this series. It’s been 5 years since I’ve seen it and I still think about it every day

Hyped to see your reaction. Definitely in my top 5 of all time and cemented Hideaki Anno as one of my favorite directors of all time not just in terms of anime directors. Be prepared for god tier animation, characterization, and weird avant garde visual direction and unusual compositions . Also Anno was inspired by Gundam a lot and most of Tominos works

Genzo does indeed have Madao’s VA, there are several scenes in Gintama where they use that as a joke too.
Btw, you don’t need any guide whatsoever for the show lol, just watch all 26 episodes of the TV Series, and then the End of Evangelion movie, and your own interpretation of everything you see is the only guide you need to follow.
