I remember my first time watching this film. it was confusing until the end. This film was funny enought my second film from Miyazaki my first one is Spirited away which i a great film as well

I think atmosphere and mood settings are a much bigger part of animes in general.

The thing about My Neighbour Totoro is it’s an awesome movie without any strong plot, but you will be amazed, laugh, be sad with the characters. You will bonf with them emotionally.

Luckily I got the child like feeling on my first watch of the movie. I don’t think it’s over rated though , instead it’s just more well known than the other films.
