Now I see why the wand was the only way I beat the game. I primarily relied on magic. Thought that was normal and this choice was pointless when the first version released.

Another important fact is that MP is literary Magic Power in this game. Meaning MP determines things from how strong your magic is to how long does their effects last. While it’s true that there are MP raising items the bottom line is that you get 2 extra MP points as a staff user and due to the way Magic works each MP point is extremely valuable, much more than even an additional item slot. The max MP possible in game including MP boosting equipment is 19 so one point in MP does a world of difference let alone 2. Kingdom Hearts is the most magic centric game in the series with physical attacks being mostly ways to get MP raised faster. So IMO the best start is keep Staff lose Sword. Losing Sword will give you better balanced stats starting up and again Staff is the best item to get. If you want to reach max level the fastest then you need to select Dusk which while it will make the early 40 levels much harder on the long run you will take less exp to reach max level.

Hey, I know this old sorry. I am playing KH on PS2, through my choices I was supposed to learn leaf bracer at level 69, yet I didn’t. Is there a later level that you can learn it at? Im going to lvl 100, just wondering though.

Im replaying the 1st and second game on the collection after so many years and decided to go with a new combination. Years ago i picked the sword for both games and shield, but decided something different this time around. For the 1st game i went with the shield and staff. For the second game i decided to go full magic wielder.

Ahhh KH1. I remember getting it for my 7th birthday. The first game was 3 years old by that time I think. Been a KH fan ever since.

I can’t believe how bad this game is. I mean, yes, it’s old, but, holy crap were my memories just ooooooooozing nostalgia bias. The controls make shovel ware titles on the wii seem downright polished. Ouch. It’s a shame they didn’t remake the game with controls that are less ass : (

My chooses:
FM proud (100%) = choose shield, lose sword, start in night;
FM begginer (speedster + unchanging armor) = choose sword, lose staff, start in dawn

I go staff sacrifice sword, dusk answer. I find it easy to supplement the exp early on no matter what. So dusk kind of speeds up the late game

Doing proud mode, chose staff Bc you’re gonna get op, so Bc of that I gave up sword. But beginning bosses are gonna be annoying since you gave up damage, also Riku on the island takes so many hits…

I wish there was a choice that has 8 item slots and 3 MP. Those are the 2 that can’t be boosted forever with synthesis.

Starting points wise, from most to least, it is:
Pick Shield, Sacrifice Sword: 21 points;
Pick Shield, Sacrifice Staff: 20 Points;
Pick Sword, Sacrifice Shield: 19 Points;
The other options are 18 points.
If you’re new to the game and rely on items a lot, picking the Shield is likely your safest and best bet.
Overall, however, it’s best to start out with a Staff (and in my case, sacrifice the Sword) for that sweet MP bonus. (MP is more important than Item Slots imo)

When i picked the weapon in this part, i for the most part go for what i personally feel i have and lack.
I picked the shield because i care very much for the people i call friends and family, but also because of how i shield myself from people i don’t know or trust out of trauma.
I think i remove the sword because, while having invincible courage could be a good thing, i believe it would go to my head and end badly in different ways.

I think most important decision making is if you go for synthesis items you should pick shield cause you get Lucky Strike way sooner. Sword is worst choice cause u have to wait until lvl 90
