WHY DID THEY TURN L INTO A BLACK GUY. Cant they just stick to the original L. Even a goth would be a lot better. Dont take this the wrong way I just dont like all the changes in this movie.

My brother loved the Death Note Western adapted movie and he’s 8. I didn’t enjoy it but he did.

If you compare it to the death note manga and anime then yeah it’s shit. But if you just let it be it’s own story it’s totally passable with some moments of being actually really good

I never really got into the anime, but my boyfriend enjoyed it enough, so we watched the movie together while downing beers. He came away appreciating the anime more, and I laughed my ass off and fell in love with how silly and ridiculous the movie was. You could tell that the actors had a whole lot of fun with this, and if you just watch it as a dark comedy, it’s some super hilarious shit.

I dont know why people try to live action animes, there animes for a reason and it would ruin it by limiting it to real world imaging.

I have a friend who watched this movie without watching the anime. He liked it. Probably because he hadn’t tasted true genius yet but was tasting shit and hasn’t stopped yet.

Romeo and juliet can be considered a dark comedy. Or a tale of what not to do when you are in a teenage romance. Sometimes he has tragedy and screw ball comedy in the same play like in the taming of the screw, where the screw is a tragic character and it is a subtile satire on the role of a woman, mainly becaucse her husband is over the top horrific.Hamlet can have dark comedy too. The line between tragedy and comedy is indeed very debatable in sheakepeare. The drama comedy mix is his style.

I highly doubt that it was in the mind of the producers to make a horror comedy.

Should have been it’s own thing. It tried to do something different but it also tried to follow the source material doing pretty much nothing. Had it been it’s own thing yeah it would have been ripped apart by the hardcore fans but it could have stayed true in one way. Well at least they tried you get points for trying.

I must admit, the Netflix Light’s reaction to seeing Ryuk for the first time makes a lot more sense, I honestly thought that’s the point you were going to make. Like, there’s one thing they did well. Ok, not "well" but… more realistically, even if it was over the top. I mean, you’d freak out. Or at least be a little scared.

The most fun I had with the movie was watching "Weekend Warrior"s video about it, right before watching "E;R"s three part series on it.

It sucks. I hate it and I don’t easily say that about a anime/movie. Netflix took my favourite show of all time, murdered it and then raped and defiled the corpse. I’m mad.
