Honestly its easier to destroy higher blocks when you can hold R2+Triangle together and then release. the blocks will clear in front of you, sure, but it will also clear the blocks above since the games AI thinks that you are trying to put all axis on the same plane.

I found a way to help move straight with no problem but looking looks to only horizontal movement so you cant side while going forwards so look in the middle

Thanks Ben! Only 2 days to go. I would love to see a video sometime on how to get started with a building, such as a house. Like how to plan it, what to consider, mistakes to avoid. Have a great day!

Holding L1/L2 will fix player position while building on same level. (You can go sideways or backwards while building)

You can destroy only the 4th level if you switch to first person view

  25. Michael Handy
    November 2, 2019 @ 8:05 am

@BenXC, you forgot one other basic. In first person if you lay blocks looking up or any direction it will give you an arrow(u can change direction), and you will continue to lay blocks in succession with out moving. but only in first person mode

You can also break blocks in first person view so look up and jump might reach the 4th row

To build one block tall walls, I keep pressing L1 + L2 at the same time so the block cursor stay at the same height so there’s no mistakes like you did at the end of your 1 block tall wall (It’s maybe a bit slower but it’s easy to do).

You can destroy the blocks on the fourth row by first person view.

You can also build a 1×2 pillar by looking down and holding the place button while jumping. That’s useful when building pillars or diagonal/rounded walls.

There’s a few more techniques utilizing first person mode.

Look down at the square before you, hold the place button and pull the stick back. You will build a four-block wall.

Standing three or four tiles beside a wall and looking up, you can place up to 7 roof blocks in one go by holding the place button. Strafe sidewards and repeat for fast roofs and bridges. Also works at foot level and even below.

    There’s more, but I don’t want to build a wall of text…
