I highly doubt that Ordinal Scale characters will be taking any kind of role at all in Alicization. They’ll probably just cameo here and there and references to the film would show up like how they did this episode.
They had game-exclusive characters cameo after all.

i actually liked how they handled the status window, in the LN is repeated over and over so it makes sense to address it only when it’s needed, and leave the mystery for now, it’s all going to be great
loved the double episode, 4 cours is going to be awesome

This season is 4 cours, but its split. Its gonna be 2 cours, a 1 cour break then the final 2cours

It does make sense that Ordinal Scale would be canon since the original author himself Reki Kawahara co-wrote it. I do feel however that those characters would be in smaller roles but just not forgotten. It’s actually quite interesting to see a franchise that doesn’t ignore their films as fillers. I’m wandering what did you guys thought about the film?
